Restored from an old barn, this charming Carnic-style home will let you experience an authentic holiday immersed in the beautiful local setting… a window onto the Contea!
The house spans three floors and sleeps up to 6 guests.
A garden is at your disposal, complete with an outdoor table, a small barbecue, and toys for children.
On the ground floor, a spacious, old-fashioned kitchen welcomes you, leading to the ground floor where you’ll find a cosy living room with a desk, a sofa bed, and a guest bathroom.
On the top floor, there are two double bedrooms with a bathroom.
We are a plastic-free and pet-friendly property… there will always be a little welcome gift for our four-legged friends!

The “Finestra sulla Contea” is located in the centre of Ovaro, at the foot of the Zoncolan on the road to Sappada and the Coglians massif, towards the Comelico region, just a stone’s throw from the spectacular Val Pesarina—also known as the “Valley of Time”—from where you can reach the Casera Razzo alpine pastures and descend towards the alpine gems of Sauris and Forni di Sopra in the spectacular Friulian Dolomites, an UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The village of Ovaro lies on the slopes of the Zoncolan—the legendary “Kaiser”—an ideal starting point for cycling excursions up the climbs of the Giro d’Italia and the Crostis, with spectacular panoramic views of the peaks.
Hiking trails such as the “Cammino delle Pievi” and the “Cammino della Fede” offer the chance to explore fascinating routes on foot or by mountain bike, allowing you to discover the most hidden corners of Carnia through its history, including a visit to the Roman site of Iulium Carnicum and its fascinating museum. The nearby Coglians, Peralba, and Pesarine mountain ranges offer climbing and trekking routes suitable even for the most experienced adventurers. We’re 7 km from the “La Farina del Diavolo” via ferrata and the Vinadia Gorge.
