We just spent a week at this lakefront property
There was plenty of room for the six of us. There is one king bedroom on the first floor plus 2 full baths. The other 4 bedrooms are upstairs and there is a small 3 piece bathroom on the second floor as well. The private beach was larger than we expected. Be sure to wear water shoes. There's a large area with a sandy bottom, but there are some sharp rocks or zebra mussels on the edge. Marla has a few fun water toys as well as a good supply of life preservers. There were also plenty of places in one of the first floor bathrooms to hang towels and swimwear. Port Clinton is about 20 minutes away. Oak Harbor has a very nice grocery store which is a little closer. We also enjoyed ice cream and sandwiches at the Bar side Creamery.
Very nice property. Marla is a great property manager. We had a great time. Would recommend.
Very clean. Well stocked. Private beach area. Fast communication from owner. Beautiful property.
Great place for family getaway
We had 11 people at the house, age 2 to grandparents. There was plenty of room and a lot to keep everyone busy! The private beach and patio areas were great for enjoying the lake. The playground right across the street was also a great plus for the kids. The linens and towels were very nice, comfortable beds, and even plenty of beach towels for everyone. We loved our stay, would definitely return, and would highly recommend!
Cedar Point, Lakeside (The Chautauqua of Lake Erie), ferry to Put-in-Bay, Marblehead lighthouse, and tons of fishing charters!
About Marla Rickloff
I am semi-retired, and my husband and I love to spend time on Lake Erie in the summer with our family and friends.
Marla Rickloff purchased this House in 2000
Why Marla Rickloff chose Oak Harbor
I fell in love with Golden Gate Cottage the first time I saw it! It is in my mind, a 'Grandma' cottage. Sweet bungalow style, wood floors, very cottagey, and the views of Lake Erie are awesome! We love this location, because it is quiet, lots of birds, and yet it is close to the Lake Erie islands, Port Clinton and Lakeside, and Cedar Point!
What makes this House unique
Hanging out by the lake on the patio; reading and cooking!
