We disassembled an 1850 vintage log house and moved it a mile and reassembled it on our 185acre farm in middle Tn . Just 50 miles west of Nashville. We added onto it and took us two yrs to complete the project. We used all reclaimed wood on the inside . It is one of a kind and a very unique property with chestnut oak and poplar thru out the house. It is now ready for rent. It sets above a creek, with easy access. Private 185 acres of woods with bicycling and walking trails. Be one of the first to experience the history of these old handhewn logs . Enjoy our huge outdoor fire pit. We cut the wood . You light the fire!!!! Two miles of private trails for biking or walking . Kiddos fishing pond stocked with bass bream and catfish. Private boat dock for kids to set on in the water to fish with cane poles rigged and worm ready . Blue hole In Yellowcreek crystal clear water abt eight to ten ft deep . For private use . Wade yellowcreek for bass fishing or float with my nine kayaks and six canoes.

Unique to the Max

What a unique home and property! Where you can you stay in bonafide cabin replete with animal mounts (it's like a museum) and vintage decor but with all the modern conveniences to make for a comfortable stay. To top it off, you would be hard pressed to find a more hospitable and helpful host/owner than Jerry and his wife! Not only are they top of the shelf hosts, it's worth your time to draw out of them their life experiences. Talk about unique!

This is our 2nd stay with Jerry and we enjoyed ourselves just as much as I remember. Canoed the creek, barbecued for supper, hiked the trails and roasted hotdog & marshmallow around the fire while catching up with old friends.

Another great stay

We’ve traveled the world and rented in many places, but this is the first property we’ve gone back to for another stay. We love the location, the acres of trails, the fishing hole (especially great for kids), and the serenity. Jerry and Janice are wonderful hosts and extremely knowledgeable about the area. A must stay!

Great spot for a more relaxed batchelor party experience

The best kept cabin I've ever stayed in. The beautiful remote property features so much to do without ever having to leave. A great place to have peace and quiet while celebrating a dear friend entering holy matrimony, or a family getaway. We certainly plan on coming back.

Great time with family

We had a wonderful time hiking, playing in the creek and just spending quality time with our kids. The cabin is amazing and the property is beautiful. Jerry and Janice have put a lot of work into Yellow Creek Retreat and it shows.

Great Place!

We had a great time at Jerry and Janice's cabin! They are so nice and thoughtful, they found out it was our anniversary and had a cake there waiting. They were also able to get a great babysitter so we could go enjoy Nashville just my husband and I! So many great things to do there!

This is a very neat place. The history is absolutely amazing, gorgeous property, gorgeous home the owners couldn't have been any better hosts. Janice did an amazing job setting up a beautiful tables by the barn. Jerry was an excellent host showing us the properties history and allowing us to visit the blue hole

Fantastic experience

We have stayed in several different cabins, this by far was the best one we have rented, the owner met us upon arrival, and was available for us if we needed anything, explained everything that was available, went above and beyond to insure our stay was a true experience

Yellow Creek Cabin Retreat...Spectacular!!!

This remarkably restored, one-of-a-kind cabin is located on one of the most breathtaking plots of land in Tennessee!!! The Crawfords have succeeded in creating a private Smokey Mountain masterpiece right here in the rolling hills of Middle TN! They are fantastic hosts who can recount in detail the history surrounding this cabin and the adjoining lands. If you like to retreat in style with all the modern day trimmings and enjoy nature in all its glory, you MUST visit this place!

Perfectly Peaceful Place

My family and I had the most wonderful time at this beautiful retreat. It's perfectly located with beautiful surroundings and a nice creek that you can hear while sitting out on the spacious porch at night. The grandchildren enjoyed playing in the creek. There is a wonderful firepit where you can gather around a fire at night with friends or family. The host is the best and very friendly and provided everything that we needed. We can't wait to get together again at this lovely and perfectly located log house.

Crystal clear creek

The spacious property is nice for all ages. The hot, humid temps were not even noticed while we swam in the crystal clear swimming hole and the creek. Jerry and Janice were great hosts! The fire pit was a hit each evening! Thanks for providing a place for our family memories.

What a Great Place

It was such a Beautiful place! The inside and outside was gorgeous!! The craftsmanship and beautiful decor was homey and welcoming. Jerry and Janice didn’t miss a thing...even saved us fresh tomatoes from the garden in the back yard!! We saw wild turkey and deer. Fished in the creek, & for us Arizona people it was a treat to see Fire Flies too! It was a perfect vacation and we can’t wait to make it back next year!!!

WONDERFUL TIME!

This rental is a hidden treasure! Only a short drive to Nashville and was in a perfect central location for our needs. The master bedroom has the most comfortable bed i’ve ever slept in. I’m quite picky ability cleanliness and the house was in immaculate shape! Property owners were very accommodating and helpful in making sure we had everything we needed. We made memories here that will last a lifetime, and can’t wait to go again!

Absolutely wonderful

Everything about this house is amazing. The bedding is the most comfortable we have had in any rental. Jerry and Janice and extremely friendly and add special touches to the vacation. They meet us at the house at check in and showed us around the property, 163 acres, and told us about all the little secret places to fish, kayak, and swim. Truly a wonderful relaxing week. Excellence

The ability to get off the beaten path and relax was amazing. Wildlife surrounded the home each day and the walking trails were excellent. We enjoyed the running spring fed stream and the tranquil ambience of the location. The canoe trip down yellow creek was a memory we will not forget as the water was crystal clear and the small mouth biting around every turn. We will be back soon! Thank you Mr. Jerry and Mrs Janice!

Stunning place!

What a fantastic place this is. First of all, this is a beautiful property in a very quiet setting with 100% privacy. Its spotless clean and it has all amenities you can think if. The log house was built a couple of years ago and has been furnished with very high quality furniture and equipment. There are also tons of things to do. With over 163 acres of private property all by yourself one can go biking, hiking or fishing without every having to leave the property. The fire pit and grill are great for relaxing and preparing food, and there are lots of games (indoor and outdoor) to not have to be bored. The host, Jerry, is extremely responsive and welcoming, and he showed us around his properties and also took us to the Yellow Creek. I very highly recommend this property to anyone who wants to relax in a quiet environment with all the amenities and luxury one needs.

Amazing location, away from the crowds and a wonderful cabin to call home

I booked this trip for my family that spread out over 4 generations. Jerry and his wife went above and beyond any expectation I could have imagined to make my family feel welcomed and taken care of as I was not able to accompany them on this trip. It was intended to make memories, but from the stories I heard it did much much more than that. The cabin itself is a master piece of fine craftsmanship that can be appreciated from the outside to the inside, down to the smallest detail. The porches, the fire pit, the decorations, the landscaping, the trails to explore, the spacious accommodations were unlike anything you will ever expect. The feeling of being home while on vacation becomes a given at this magical place and you don’t want to leave. In fact, it was said that the eldest member of the generations could live out her remaining days here and would be better prepared for the glories that heaven has to offer, cause it felt like she was already in heaven by the end of the trip. Not only was the place itself wonderful, but you get the entire package with the attentiveness of the owners. This started out as a last minute trip to end the summer, it became so much more. We will be back!

Third stay here…

We found this place in October 2020 during the height of the pandemic. Because it was out of the way, we figured that we could get people together to celebrate my 50th birthday. This we did. And we’ve been back every year since. It remains out of the way, and Jerry remains a remarkable host. He told us that he likes to meet all his guests. One can see why. He’s engaging, funny, witty. Mostly, he just cares about people. That is evident from the way he treats his guests. The place itself is spacious, well-stocked, and well-equipped. You will find more in the kitchen than you are perhaps used to from a VRBO property. In fact, during that first stay, we needed a cast iron skillet. Jerry was only too happy to provide one. And it’s like that with everything there. If you are not happy, ask. If something needs to be made right, it will be.

Old house was on the property when I bought it, so I moved it to save and restore. It is one of a kind with so much detail in finishing the home. Decorating it was a blast according to my wife. Watch out for the brown bear standing in the dogtrot.

Private 185 acres to explore. Joins a private 4000 acre game preserve . Visit old house site where the cisterns still intact with cold spring water running 24 hrs a day. Set in rocker on front porch with a glass of wine and chill out while sun goes down and watch kids play in the creek. Very serene.
