On approaching the village using the postcode - and also the location link on your house details- took us quite the wrong direction and it took us about 30 minutes to find it - only after asking locals and at the pub. The description “ opposite the red gravel path” was not accurate - in fact it was “ at the red gravel path”. Perhaps a small map would be useful? Our first impressions of the house were a little disappointing. We felt that some aspects had clearly been either been ignored or misrepresented on the information and photos. The back view is rather bleak on the ground with rather messy unused stables and an old red van and there is a generally rather sad outlook. There are seats but the whole area is not too inviting. I imagine it is hard to think what to do with that if that is the immediate environment- could you put some small trees in pots on the balcony to soften it all ? Inside we make these recommendations Bathroom 1- the shower was not draining so was overflowing. Bathroom 3- there is mould on the ceiling and the hot and cold tap letters were lying on the shelf. Our family found the sink impossibly small to use All the toilet seats seemed a little ill fitting and moved around making it a little precarious for anyone with mobility issues Hooks on the back of the bathroom doors would be helpful for towels- and some bathrooms needed a wee shelf as there’s nowhere to lay anything. In the bedroom side tables would be appreciated . On the positive side the

Could be 5*
Great space for 6 of us and beautiful location. Warm and cosy with exceptional views. Let down by very poorly equipped kitchen, not very comfortable beds, no bedside tables, or side tables in huge living room. Really wouldn't take much for this to be spectacular. Kitchen needs replacing, but mostly the rest is just attention to detail

Friends Northumberland break
The house was perfect for our break, in a lovely spot with pub on the doorstep that served fantastic food. Lots of space with comfy chairs to sit out as well. A great base for exploring Northumberland.

Lovely roomy cottage
Fantastic spacious cottage. Great views from the lounge and veranda of the countryside and sea. A few yards from the cottage is an excellent pub serving great food. Due to number of guests staying a few more larger pans may have made cooking a bit easier and bedside tables would be appreciated. Otherwise a brilliant place to stay to have easy access to all the beauty of Northumberland.
