Quiet vacation apartment on a small farm in Tørberget, near Trysil

Popular place to stay. Accessible by car all the way to the door. Electricity and water connected. Located on the ground floor of a former barn. An 18–20-minute drive to Trysilfjellet. The only apartment on the property. Peaceful location on a former small farm.

Close to hunting, fishing, and outdoor activities in both summer and winter. Beautiful berry and cloudberry picking areas nearby, and large forested areas right outside the door. Groomed ski trails in winter and just an 18-minute drive to the car park at the Trysilfjellet ski resort. An excellent area for long weekends and holidays year-round.

You’ll find this a very comfortable place to stay. There is sleeping space for four people in bunk beds, as well as a fold-out camp bed and a sleeper sofa that can accommodate one additional person, bringing the total sleeping capacity to six people.

The property features a shower, a toilet, satellite TV, outdoor seating with a grill (in the summer), and ample parking. There is freezer space in the barn if needed (please let us know in advance). The apartment has a small refrigerator with a small freezer compartment, and a larger refrigerator is available in the barn upon request.

Please note that the kitchen is quite basic and has neither running water nor a sink. This means that water for cooking, washing dishes, etc., must be fetched from the bathroom (which is the only room with running water). It may be a bit inconvenient, but we’ve chosen to keep it this way rather than renovate—so that we can continue to offer low rental rates.

The hot water tank is relatively small and will run out after, for example, a long shower. Since it’s small, it also takes quite a short time to reheat fresh water. Ideally, though, th nok 3-4 s is the limit for staying here if everyone wants to take a quick shower in the morning. However, there’s sleeping space, seating, and kitchen equipment for up to six people, so everyone can decide for themselves :) 

There are great berry-picking areas (blueberries, lingonberries, and cloudberries) nearby, and it’s a short distance to excellent fishing year-round (a Statskog fishing licence is required). Tørbergsjøen is known for its excellent ice fishing conditions, and ice fishing competitions are held here regularly. There are also great swimming and canoeing opportunities on Lake Tørbergsjøen.

As for fishing in the area, Lake Tørbergsjøen is particularly good for perch and pike; in the Tørbergsåa River there are trout, perch, and pike; a little further away lies Kilbontjern, which has trout, perch, pike, and roach; and in the border areas near Sweden, a few kilometres away, there is good trout fishing in both Lake Høljesjøen and the Høljåa River. Everyone under the age of 20 can fish for free in these lakes and rivers, as they are located on Statskog-owned land. If you’re over 20, you must purchase a fishing licence (Statskog’s Norgeskort is valid).

About 30–35 minutes to city centre Elverum, home to the Norwegian Forestry Museum, the Glomdal Museum, several shopping centers, and more. 20 minutes to Innbygda in Trysil, with city centre amenities and year-round activities.
