Bedroom 2: 2 x Single (3ft) Beds

Enclosed back garden with sitting out areas, chiminea and garden furniture. BBQ. Private parking for 1 car. No smoking. Please note: There are 10 steps to the main garden.. This adorable Lakeland cottage is tucked away within a short distance of Bowness-on-Windermere. The cottage has been lovingly restored and offers a farmhouse kitchen with a bespoke reclaimed wood table and a separate seating area. The living room has been painted in an atmospheric blue and has a wood burning stove (of course, there is a television for nights by the fire and a selection of games).
Its double bedroom has a large wardrobe and dresser, and an incredible view over the garden with views of Lake Windermere. There is a further twin bedroom with a walk-in wardrobe. The spacious bathroom has a French country twist (and also a view). This cottage is a home suitable for all - families, couples, singles, and walking groups. It’s a place just to ’be’ and enjoy nature.
The private garden has solar-powered lights, a barbecue and a large outdoor seating area with a living room furniture set and a separate table with six chairs and a parasol. There are two chimeneas at different points in the garden, so you can choose your spot. The garden looks over Lake Windermere and has mountain views.
Corner Cottage is perfectly placed to enjoy all that Bownesss-on-Windermere has to offer, including restaurants, boutique shops, boat rides and bars. Take a cruise on Lake Windermere to Ambleside or across to Lakeside to enjoy a day at The Aquarium or hop on the steam train to Haverthwaite. You can also easily reach Grizedale Forest.
Alternatively, try your hand at sailing and hire a boat for a few hours. Paddle boarding is a popular activity on the Lake, so if you have one, then it is certainly worth bringing it along. Bowness-on-Windermere is home to Beatrix Potter World and the wonderful Art Deco Royalty Cinema. If you are feeling energetic, there are many walks nearby. Including ’Orrest Head’ in Windermere, a relatively short walk offering spectacular views over Lake Windermere (the owners walk it with their littles).
Some of the Lake District’s fantastic fells are a mere short drive away. The small ’Alpine’ village of Grasmere is of special importance to the owners of this cottage who got engaged there! Significantly, William Wordsworth is laid to rest in Grasmere at St. Oswald’s Church. For Gingerbread, a visit to Grasmere Gingerbread shop is a must! We hope you love this cottage and all it has to offer as much as the owners and their families do. It is a treasured spot for them and they hope you enjoy it too!
