Every aspect of our trip was wonderful! Great hosts. Highly responsive and communicative hosts. Great location, out of town but nearby. Time and again we marveled at how well stocked the kitchen, and the rest of the cabin, was. For those not familiar, the Ely area offers tremendous outdoor recreation opportunities for those with a variety outdoor skills and fitness levels. The hosts were a great source of information about the area, and there were numerous maps available at the cabin. Our dog, Fritz, was very welcome, and he had a blast! There are large open areas for dog play which is unusual in that neck of the woods. We are planning our return trip now!

Very nice cabin!

The cabin was great and was greeted immediately with the layout and any additional tidbits we may need. My only issue was inability to utilize the dock due to previous flooding. Beaching my boat was the only option. Beware of the rocks as the channel to lake is relatively shallow. Otherwise thanks for a relaxing stay.

Nice home base near Ely

We enjoyed our time at this cabin. It has a great kitchen that was probably the most well-appointed of any cabin at which we have stayed. It is, as advertised, on the second floor above a garage in a unique home built by family of the owners. That gives a great view from a high deck, but also means you need to lug your weeks worth of stuff up the stairs. It was clean and homey. Hosts were exceptionally helpful and live in home nearby. We brought a small Lund boat. Although there is an option for putting in by their dock, my suggestion is to use the public dock just a few minutes boat ride away. We loved fishing around the islands in the lake. Great week for our family.

What an awesome retreat!

The house is cozy, and the bedrooms have plenty of space around the beds for your things and getting changed. A lot of cabins don’t, which isn’t a problem for me, but it was nice to feel like I was in a normal room. The beds and furniture are comfortable, everything you need for dishes and food preparation is there. Cabinets and draws are clearly labeled. The refrigerator was sparkling clean and empty. I’ve stayed places that left others odds and ends like half empty bottles of salad dressing in the refrigerator and I hate that. No, I am not going to use some unknown person’s leftovers, and I need the space for my stuff (which all comes with me when I leave out of consideration for the host and other guests). The deck has wonderful views of the lake and sunrise, and has enough furniture to be pleasant but not crowded. Ely is only ten minutes away if you want to see places like the International Wolf center, but if all you want is a lakeside retreat, you’d never know Ely was so near.Definitely want to stay again, and next time I’ll bring my canoe. Thanks for a lovely stay!

An awesome cabin in a beautiful location.

Hannie and Cory were wonderful hosts. The cabin had everything we needed and more. We had a great week and caught bunches of Pike. The best spot was right off of the pier.

The property was at the end of the road with easy access to the lake, with ample opportunities for canoeing and fishing. We enjoyed the cabin which was very comfortable for 5 people and were thankful for the owner's dog friendly attitude.

Our family had a great time. The owners were very nice and personable, but not intrusive. They supplied all of the essentials and the cabin was very clean and well-organized. We caught a couple of fish off the dock and saw several deer. We would highly recommend this property as a quiet place to get away.

Exactly what we wanted for our vacation.

We had a great relaxing time. The owners were there and available in their home but not at all intrusive. They made us welcome showed us around and let us explore. The lake and the surrounding area is amazing. I felt like the entire experience was worth the $$. Thanks for the vacation.

Week with 3 couples

We enjoyed our stay. Sadly the lake was low due to drought so couldn’t keep our boat at the dock. Great Lake for canoeing and kayaking. Sofas in great room not in the best of shape. Nice deck. Overall the space worked well for our group.

Cozy & Peaceful Getaway

We had a great time. Pam & Bruce met us on our arrival and were very helpful. Very nice, extremely well equipped and clean cabin. Loved the lake view and great to be able to have a dock to moor our boat and go in for lunch and a nap for hubby. Saw several deer in the front yard, tons of turtles, snow geese, beaver and a few eagles. Love how peaceful and quiet it was. Will definitely consider this place next time we visit Minnesota. Thanks Pam and Bruce for opening up your cabin.
