A rural, detached cottage within the historic grounds of the Bargaly Estate.
A rural, detached cottage within the historic grounds of the Bargaly Estate.. All on the Ground Floor:
Living room: TV, DVD Player, CD Player, DVDs, Woodburner
Kitchen/dining room: Woodburner, Electric Cooker, Microwave, American Fridge Freezer
Utility Room: Dishwasher, Washing Machine
Bedroom 1: Double (4ft 6in) Bed
Bedroom 2: 2 x Single (3ft) Beds, Z-Bed
Bathroom: Bath With Shower Over, Toilet. Oil central heating, electricity, bed linen and towels included. Initial logs for wood burners included. Travel cot and high chair available on request. Welcome pack. . Large 1-acre garden wigh garden furniture and BBQ. Salmon and trout fishing by separate arrangement. Bikes and equipment store. Private parking for 2/3 cars. No smoking. Please note: There is a small burn within the owners grounds which is fenced, gated and not in the immediate garden, young children must be supervised. The property has a natural water supply from a spring.. Squirrel Cottage sits serenely within the historic grounds of Bargaly Estate. The cottage takes its name from the regular sightings of red squirrels seen here. The cottage is the former lodge house to the Bargaly Estate set in the beautiful Bargaly Glen. Bargaly was once the home of the famous horticulturist Andrew Heron and dates back to 1675. The estate feels like a million miles from anywhere, yet Newton Stewart is within a 5-mile drive. The area is a wildlife haven for deer, red squirrels, and birds and their presence just makes a holiday here feel very special. For fishermen daily and weekly fishing permits can be purchased from the estate manager for fishing the estate’s 5½ mile stretch of the Palnure Burn. Shop, pub and restaurant 5 miles
Please note there is no TV reception but a video with DVD library is provided.
Children must be supervised on site due to possible safety hazards.
The water is from a spring, well or borehole, and not a mains supply.
Additional pet(s) may be welcome at an additional charge.
There are steps or steep slopes in the garden.
