Fantastic property that suited our family stay. Property was in excellent condition and contained all the types of things that make a stay easier. The animals at the location were an added bonus for the kids as was the arrival of the highland cow calves. The host was fantastic and ensured everything went well and even let the kids help feed the animals. Location was great for a base as we did day trips across the Jurassic coast destinations. Would stay again without any hesitation.

Woodland Retreat was very private, not overlooked and as the name suggests, nestled within woodland.

Woodland Retreat was very private, not overlooked and as the name suggests, nestled within woodland. There is a stream with mini waterfall outside which was relaxing to hear and the children loved seeing the ducks outside our lodge. Nice big private driveway. Hot tub much appreciated. Lodge very spacious, modern, comfortable, clean and well equipped. The only very minor criticism is that all the rooms have French doors to the veranda including the children’s bedroom and my 6 year old could easily unlock the door which worried me with the hot tub. Our children were able to understand that they must not to go outside on their own, but younger children might not understand. Maybe consider putting bolts on the inside of the doors high up as a safety feature to deter children opening the doors of the lodges (especially given there is open water and a working farm)
