Description

Set over three floors this Grade II listed house is well furnished, enjoys views over the local common and has everything needed to keep a large family more than comfortable.

Just a mile north of Aldeburgh is this fascinating seaside village, built in the 1920s by Glencairn Stuart Ogilvie, an architect, barrister and playwright.

The mock Tudor style of building is now the hallmark of Thorpeness, where the amenities include the Dolphin Inn, the Thorpeness Hotel with its 18-hole golf course, a Country Club with tennis courts and the Thorpeness Meare – a large shallow boating lake with tearooms nearby.

Rental of 9 The Whinlands includes membership of Thorpeness Country Club that allows tenants and guests FREE use of the courts all year (except during High Season) (subject to Club rules) and 20% green fee discount at Thorpeness Golf Club for the Owner, guests and tenants year round

Odd village

The village used to be a holiday village so there are no shops or sense of community. It's possible to have grocery deliveries to the property but be prepared that it will be a drive to pick up a pint of milk
