This is a big spacious house in a quiet area. Not too far from stores or the ferry terminal but on a decent size property that makes you feel like you’re miles away from other people.

We stayed only long enough (2.5 hrs) to discover that the furnace wasn’t working in the house. We called the owner and he said that he was waiting for parts to have it fixed. The thermostat read 58 F. It was too cold to be comfortable for four days. We left after finding out that the furnace would not be fixed. VRBO and or the owner should have a notice that the house is not heated. F there had been a fireplace, and wood, we might have stayed.

Run down and dirty
It was unfortunate that this great place has been run down by poor management. This has 3 beautiful big bedrooms a large dinning kitchen and living room. The beds are all comfortable. However the place needs good cleaning too to bottom and a host who understands how to put a home together for guestsThe kitchen cupboards inside were very dirty and all dishes had to be washed before using.tjere were no dishcloths or tea towels, the dishwasher was non functioning. No paper towels. The cutlery drawers were thick with debris, smears of old food things strewn about in the drawer. There was a thick layer of dust everywhere on the furniture, and the bed linens had not been washed. There were no clean towels in the bathrooms. We found a few hung on hangers in the laundry area. Beds were not properly made. The heat vents were caked with dust so thick you could hardly see the grates. There were curly pub hair in the bathrooms. The outside patio was beyond useable because of dirt and disrepair. The grounds were unkept. The whole place looked deserted. We tried to get money back and book a new place as soon as we walked in the door but The host said he could not refund unless VRBO released the money to him. It took all evening and all the next morning to get any help from VEBO through all means of contact listed. We needed up getting 500 back from the 1200 we spent. VRBO could have a betterResponse and this place should not be listed till it’s cleaned up
Not well equipped; missing key advertised amenities
Accommodation advertised the following which were not provided:Dishwasher: broken. Had a sign on it, so the owner knew it was broken, however we were not informed before we arrived.Towels: There were ZERO tea towels or hand towels to do the dishes with. Bath towels were questionable - older - thin and originally white but now a brownish colour Furnace (Heat): We were informed at time of check in that the furnace had 'just' broken and would not be serviced during our stay. Apparently it broke that day, but this is questionable. On a rainy weekend in the cooler months of the year, this was NOT comfortable. We drove to town and purchased space heaters which we hoped to return to the store at the end of the trip. No efforts were made by the owner to resolve or compensate for this, although this was requested.Cleanliness: The beds did not appear clean so we laundered all before sleeping in them. Overall the bedding and linens were minimal. Bathroom soap was half used bars of soap. There was some misc. packaging garbage on the deck and in the kitchen. The property was quiet and secluded- mostly surrounded by forest between it and the neighbours. I would not call the yard an 'outdoor play area' nor a 'garden.' It would not be very safe for smaller children as a water filled ditch runs along one side of the property (12" of water) an unmarked "pond" and blackberries. Oh and a steep cliff.
Great size suite/ property for the price. Communication was easy, and the host was very responsive.
No cable, but you can cast streaming providers to the tv from your phone/ tablet
We enjoyed staying at this home. It is very large.
It is located within a few minutes of Gibsons and a short distance off the highway. It is very quiet and private.
We had some difficulty using the TV but the host was exceptionally helpful and patient on the phone to resolve the problem.
We will likely stay here again if it is available when we travel to the Sunshine Coast.
