BEACHES
First pebble beach is located right in front of the house. Loviste bay is due to the landscape orientation quite closed bay. This means that the sea is much calmer, warmer and there is less wind than in the surrounding areas. In heart of Loviste city centre there is a nice pebble beach with pine trees just across the road where you can hide from the sun.
Surrounding areas around Loviste village are well-known for its hidden beaches where you can have the entire beach for yourself. To reach these hidden gems you need to drive on bumpy gravel roads which are barely enough wide for the car to squeeze through. Sometimes you even need to walk few minutes on foot – but it is worth off since you have a complete peace and privacy there :)
11 km drive from Loviste there is Viganj town. Viganj town is well-known location for this water and wind related activities. Here you can enjoy or learn these interesting wind-orientated sport activities or you can simply lie on the beach, enjoy and observe wind- and kite-surfers in action.
Divna beach is located 30-minute drive away on north side of Peljesac Peninsula in the direction of Trpanj ferry port. You will be enchanted by a small island (you can swim there, just be careful because rocks are quite sharp) in this turquoise blue sea, pebble beach and green nature around the beach.
SURROUNDINGS
Villa is located few minute walk from the centre of Loviste village. First restaurant is located only 50 m from the house and around 1,5 km away is the centre of the village where you will find shops, other restaurants, ATM machine and post office.
7 km from Loviste is located Nakovana cave (near Nakovana village) where the artefacts from Palaeolithic times were found. Nakovana village was in past full of life, but nowadays it is a “ghost village” since all the residents moved after the second world war to more populated and tourist areas. It is really an interesting experience to walk here with no one around you and exploring this village.
Viganj town is located 11 km from Loviste and Orebic town is 18 km away. In Orebic you can find everything you need – big supermarkets, doctor, pharmacy, fish market, vegetable and fruit market, bike and car rental, ATM and bank, ferry or taxi boat to Korcula, etc.…
Korcula Island has a charming medieval Venetian town, also named »little Dubrovnik« because of the resemblance of the Dubrovnik town, one of the most beautiful medieval towns in Europe - Croatia. From Orebic’s marine there drive taxi boats to Korcula town practically every hour in summer. Mljet Island with its preserved nature and national parks can be also reached from Orebic town.
Along Peljesac peninsula famous vineyards are located and on the other side of the peninsula lies the town of Ston, where the peninsula is joined with the mainland. Peljesac offers ideal conditions for sailing, mountain walking, climbing on Sv. Ilija mountain (936 m altitude), cycling, kiting, windsurfing and fishing.
You can hike (3-4 h walk) to the top of Mount Saint Iliya (961m) that provides wonderful views across the Peninsula and Korcula Island – but do take your trekking shoes with you!
