About this property

La Blanche Maison Delabrée

The house, built by Grandfather Elio in 1920, is laid out over two floors: on the ground floor, the entryway separates the living room from the sitting room; the spacious kitchen with pantry is accessible directly from the main entrance or from the side entrance, which leads directly from the garden to the dining room; The dining room features a long table and bench, comfortably seating eight adults.
The space
The living room, to the left of the main entrance, is heated by a Stube during the colder months; next to it is a round table with four chairs. In addition to the bookcase, the furnishings include two sofas and two armchairs. The living room with a fireplace is located to the right of the main entrance and features sideboards, an armchair, and a round table; barbecue equipment is provided upon request.
The living room leads to the spacious kitchen, fully equipped with pots and pans of all sizes and made from various materials, such as the stainless steel of GSV cookware, the cast iron of the Lyonnaise frying pan, the heavy aluminium of the Agnelli saucepots, and the cast iron and enamelled cast iron of the Danish saucepots. During the winter, an Emil Henry baking stone is used to bake bread in the wood-fired kitchen oven; nonstick pans come in various sizes, as do the griddles (cast iron and nonstick) and the moulds for baked and spoon desserts. The porcelain oven-safe cocottes have lids only in the smallest sizes; also for the oven, there are baking sheets of various sizes and shapes—rectangular, round, and oval—made of steel and Pyrex; the woks come in two different sizes, with the smaller one featuring a nonstick bottom. The gas stove is a five-burner Smeg; in the winter, you can also use the wood-burning “economy stove,” whose oven, thanks to the firebrick, reaches temperatures around 300 degrees. The fireplace in the living room is equipped for grilling; in the spring and fall, however, people prefer to barbecue outdoors, either over hot coals or using the more convenient electric grill.
The kitchen drawers are well-stocked with utensils, ranging from a lemon zester to a mandoline for thin slicing, from a garlic press to an oil thermometer, from a mortar for pesto to a pasta machine; For blending, chopping, or emulsifying, a Bamix is available, but you’ll also find simple electric whisks and dough hooks for mixing dough—dough that can be kneaded by hand on the marble worktop of the kitchen table and rolled out thin with a rolling pin. In the pantry, there’s a refrigerator with a freezer, a “moscarola” for cold cuts and cheeses, an electric grill, and a large electric oven.
You reach the first—and top—floor via the central staircase, which has very comfortable risers, where you’ll find the three bedrooms and three bathrooms.
Guests have access to a double bedroom, a bathroom with a bathtub, a bedroom with a French bed, a small study, a bathroom with a shower, a double bedroom (which can be converted into two separate beds if needed), a bathroom with a small tub, and on the landing, a chest of drawers stocked with cotton and linen towels and dressing gowns; the closets in each bedroom contain additional pillows and blankets.
In the spacious garden, there is an area set aside for a traditional barbecue, an outdoor electrical socket for an electric grill, a table with four chairs, and a lounge chair.
Guest Access
Access to “La Blanche Maison Délabrée” is via a walk through the garden, after parking your car in the designated area, which is unguarded but under video surveillance; Two bicycles can be stored in the area adjacent to the laundry room, accessed through the service door, as can a motorcycle.
Other things to keep in mind
The presence of a Stube in the living room, a fireplace in the sitting room, and a wood-burning stove suggests that you should fully enjoy the atmosphere of this historic home from late summer through late spring. Our “off-season” begins with the arrival of the summer months, as we cannot offer air conditioning indoors and the atmosphere in the garden is “affected” by nearby crops other than olive trees.
Small pets are welcome, and in the laundry room you’ll find a second washing machine reserved for their belongings; please note that the garden is not fenced. Due to the energy crisis, the linens provided are not ironed.
Hosting a social gathering at “La Blanche Maison Délabrée” is made easy by the wide range of utensils available in the kitchen and pantry.
Upon confirmation of the event date, a security deposit of €300.00 will be required, which will be refunded at check-out
