Villa Despina 1 Plakias Private Villa, Private Swimming Pool Garden,Amazing View

Villa Despina is a recently built two storey building with 5 bedrooms located 1 km from the villages of Asomatos in the mountainous area of southern Crete.

The villa can accommodate up to 13 people and has a pool with a children's pool, hamam, hydro-massage, barbecue and playground for children.

Facilities - Inside the villa

The open plan ground floor has a living room with a corner sofa bed and satellite TV. Also the living room is equipped with a fireplace. Leading off this there is a fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher, a big dining area, the hamam room and the jacuzzi hot tub. There are two ground floor bedrooms, one with a double bed and one with two twin bed, three bathrooms, one with a corner bath/shower/WC and two with a shower/WC. There is also a washing machine on the hall area.

On the first floor there are a further three bedrooms, the first with one double bed and a single bed and the other two with one double bed each. There are further three showers/WC. All of the bedrooms open up to either a balcony or a sun terrace with patio furniture offering a variety of views over the magnificent surrounding countryside - the Kourtaliotis gorge, all the way to the sea. All bedrooms have air conditioning for free. For cooler spells the house is also equipped with central heating for extra local charge.

The villa has a pool with a children's pool, barbecue, playground for children and can accommodate up to 13 people in 200 m2 of living space, built in a 10000 m2 plot, with hundreds of olive and fruit trees and other vegetation.

No other buildings exist for about 300 meters.

Villa Despina is close to the traditional Taverna of Despina. Same owners, same quality! The food is homemade and the ingredients are homegrown. This facility will accompany your accommodation, if you wish, and although your privacy is our priority we offer the option to socialize, eat, drink and feel Crete all over. Fantastic Villa

Great villa with an abundance of silence. Very peaceful with great virws. Best villa i have been to. Inside was massive and pool area very generous. The hosts were always on hand if anything was needed. Just 100m away in the Taverna. If you want a layed back holiday this villa cant be beaten.

Stunning views and peaceful surroundings

Villa Despina is a perfect location to unwind. The villa has everything--a beautiful pool, shady terraces and balconies on which to relax outside and enjoy the amazing mountain views, a superb taverna 50 metres from the front door and gorgeous beaches and gorges within a 10 minute drive. The owners were very friendly and welcoming, and the food they serve in the taverna is so fresh and deliciously prepared that you never want to go anywhere else! We can't wait to return.

Great villa

This villa is very good value. It has great mountain views by the pool and there is a nice ocean view from the nearby taverna owned by the same family (which also has good food). The pool is a good size. Would definitely stay again.

Villa Despina - uneingeschränkt zu empfehlen

Wir waren mit zwei Familien (4 Erwachsene, 5 Kinder) für zwei Wochen in der Villa Despina in Asomatos/Kreta. Das Haus ist sehr schön, sauber, und ruhig gelegen. Der Pool ist groß und sehr gepflegt. Die gesamte Anlage ist so, wie in der Anzeige auf FeWo Direkt beschrieben. Noch übertroffen wurde das Haus aber von der rührenden Hilfsbereitschaft und Gastfreundschaft der Eigentümerfamilie, die zugleich die ca. 100 m vom Haus gelegene Taverne betreibt. Der Eigentümer Michalis und sein Sohn Stefanos haben jede unserer Fragen geduldig beantwortet und waren immer zur Stelle, wenn wir Hilfe brauchten, einen Tipp für Ausflugsziele benötigten oder als es darum ging, im Vorfeld den Transfer vom Flughafen zum Haus zu organisieren. Das Ein- und Auschecken verlief sehr freundlich und ohne jegliche Schwierigkeiten. Und köstlich essen zu sehr vernünftigen Preisen kann man in der Taverne auch, von der wir übrigens in den zwei Wochen unseres Aufenthalts kein einziges Mal irgendeinen Lärm gehört haben. Die Umgebung ist auch sehr schön. Der Damnoni Beach ist ein prima Wahl und die nächste Stadt Plakias bietet neben etlichen großen Supermärkten viele Ausgehmöglichkeiten (Tavernen, Snackbars, Restaurants), von denen die Taverne von Captain Tasomanolis ein wahres Highlight ist, was Speisen und netten Service angeht. Die sonstige Infrastruktur in Plakias (Geldautomaten, Apotheke, Arzt, geschmackvolle Souvenirläden) stimmt auch.

Très jolie villa bien située

Nous avons passé un magnifique séjour dans cette jolie villa située près de Plakias. Le propriétaire est adorable et l’accès à sa taverne juste à côté de la maison est un vrai plus car on y mange bien, pas cher et pas besoin de prendre la voiture ! De très belles plages, jolis villages, belles gorges,à quelques kilomètres. Piscine et extérieur de la maison agréables. Belles chambres et bonne literie. Quelques petits points a améliorer car un peu juste pour 12 personnes : manque de couverts (petites cuillères), pas assez de chaises dehors et table un peu petite (mais on se débrouille et ça passe impec) couchage pour 10 et non 12 sauf si on dort sur le canapé qui n’est pas convertible, fournir équipement pour bébé serait un plus (poussette, lit, chaise) Les plus de cette villa ; toutes les terrasses, pas mal de rangement dans les chambres, machine à laver (avec lessive fournie), cuisine bien équipée, le nombre de salle de bain, la climatisation dans toutes les chambres, serviettes de piscine et douche fournies, la piscine, vue depuis la villa au cœur des montagnes, parking pour au moins 3 voitures, et le grand plus la gentillesse du propriétaire. Je recommande cette villa sans hésitation !

The perfect holiday

I don't say these things lightly, but Villa Despina is a magical place. The house is large and spacious with plenty of room for a big family. The location is beautiful and scenic, and also just remote enough to not having to worry about noise. The big garden/terrace, and especially swimming pool tie a bow around this perfect package! Communication with the management is easy, friendly, and convenient, as you just have to walk 20 m to the taverna, which is also a great place to have dinner, especially if you have children. It was our 2nd stay in as many years, and we will definitely be returning as soon as possible. 5/5 Stars, highly recommended.

Super séjour dans maison au calme avec une vue sur la montagne.

Vacances entre amis. Nous étions 2 familles avec nos enfants de 30, 22,18,15 et 10 ans. La maison est très agréable à vivre. La vue sur les montagnes est reposante. La piscine superbe. Les propriétaires adorables et la nourriture proposée dans leur auberge est très bonne. Nous sommes ravis

Villa Despina

We found the owners to be very welcoming and really nice people, There Taverna is just a very short walk away and sells very reasonable food and beer, The Villa was very clean and tidy,At 1st there was not enough sun beds but when asked for they came with more straight away ,For the price we paid the Villa is very good. There are lots of beaches close by and the nearest town is about 10 min drive with lots to do there inc: shopping,eating,drinking etc . would defiantly return overall very good.

Amazing, highly recommend

We recently arrive home after a 9 day stay in Villa Despina. The villa is beautiful, well equipped and the location is perfect if you’re looking for a peaceful and relaxing break. I would recommend hiring a car to get around to see some of the beautiful beaches and surroundings, however we did not have a car and the owners were a huge help in taking us shopping and also arranging car rental for us! Taverna Despina is just at the end of the road and we spent a few nights here. Once again, I could not fault the villa and especially the owners. We felt so welcome and are looking forward to visiting again soon!

Very good stay for 2 weeks with family

A lot of space for 2 families, 3 adults and 4 teenies, clean, nice pool, big barbecue, very friendly owners who gave their best to make us feel confortable, consider a car is needed to reach the nice beaches (between 10 and 20 minutes), wind can be really strong. The owner family runs also the Taverna with good food and correct prices.

Excellent hosts and comfortable villa

The good things: the villa is large with four large bedrooms,the owner is exceptionally friendly and welcoming. He owns the adjacent taverna which serves simple but tasty food and is good value. Things which could be improved: there is a lack of kitchen equipment and crockery. We were a party of 8 and struggled. If you were 10 or 12 you’d certainly find it difficult. The property needs a table big enough to sit all guests outside with lighting. We ate inside every night because of the lack of this. The online listing mentions TVs and fridges in bedrooms and a sauna. We didn’t want or need any of these things but couldn’t find them either. Lastly the hydro massage shower did not work. Despite all theses issues we enjoyed our stay and thank everyone at Villa Despina for their kindness.

Nice house

La villa è molto accogliente, conforme all'annuncio, in posizione molto comoda per vedere la costa Sud. I proprietari sono molto cordiali. Molto adatta a famiglie con bambini. Molto vicino alla villa c'è una taverna gestita dalla proprietà dove abbiamo mangiato molto bene. The villa is very welcoming, conforming to the announcement, in a very convenient position to see the South coast. The owners are very friendly. Very suitable for families with children. Very close to the villa there is a tavern managed by the property where we ate very well.

Large family holiday at Villa Despina

Just returned from a wonderful two week stay at Villa Despina. A very large villa with all the amenities you need, very clean and spacious. The views are amazing and completely private, the owners run the taverna next door and are very welcoming making you feel part of there family. Spent most nights there just for evening drinks, food is very nice aswell. Nice location to explore south of the island, plenty of nice beaches.

Fantastic 2 weeks with the family.

From the moment we arrived and were greeted with free drinks at the family taverna the holiday was a complete success. We traveled with our son & wife, daughter & husband and our 5 grandchildren. The Villa accommodated all 11 of us, was well equipped and provided a good base for the southern beaches of Crete. The well maintained private pool provided hours of entertainment for the grandchildren when not at the beach. The family run taverna, only 50 metres from the villa, provided an excellent variety of delicious dishes at reasonable rates such that we dined there every evening of our stay. The owners whole family were very friendly and could not do enough to make our whole stay most satisfactory. We almost became part of their family. We would not hesitate to recommend the villa to anyone wanting a good time in southern Crete.

Great holiday

Just back from 2 weeks at villa despina 1. A fantastic holiday with a huge villa that gave 4 adults and 3 children loads of space to spread out in. Excellent hospitality shown by the family who also own the taverna next door. Villa was well maintained, cleaned regularly and any issues dealt with quickly. A perfect base for exploring the south of the island and it's superb beaches. We would highly recommend this for anyone wanting a quiet and relaxing holiday. We will be back!

Really nice experience

Très bien !

Un accueil chaleureux et des hôtes très réactifs. Sur un séjour d’une semaine, nous avons eu un ménage intermédiaire. La maison n’est pas loin de la route mais très au calme malgré tout. La maison est propre et fonctionnelle. La piscine est agréable ainsi que l’environnent. Vu sur la mer depuis les terrasses à l’étage. Très bien !

Beautiful house

The property is really nice,big,comfortable and clean.The swimming pool and the garden are also big and nice. We explored the whole island staying at this property and we reccomend it in order to have some great holidays with your family or your friends.
