About this property

Skylark - a beach house that sleeps 5 guests in 2 bedrooms

Skylark Beach House is situated on Blue Anchor Road, a favourite location with Bay regulars as it is close to the beach, tennis court, playground and village centre, but also very private.

Enter through the side door into the spacious open plan living area. To the left is the large kitchen with all the appliances you need. To the right is the dining space with extendable table and seating for 4-8. And in front, is the living area, with corner sofa and armchair, coffee table, log burner and TV/DVD.

From the living space, there are large bifold doors onto the front deck, ideal for catching the morning and afternoon sun.

Down the hall, there are two bedrooms. Main bedroom with kingsize bed and ensuite wet room with rainfall shower and second bedroom with full-size twin beds (can be joined to make a superking on request), and ensuite bathroom with a bath and rainfall shower over.

We also provide a 4ft small double folding guest bed for the 5th guest (fits in the kitchen area) if required.

Off-road parking for 2 cars side by side. Log burner and underfloor heating make Skylark beach house cosy for breaks all year round. Ceiling fans in all rooms too.

The property has little extras like TVS in the lounge and bedrooms, and a Tassimo coffee machine. Lots of games, beach equipment, a hammock and more so you can pack light!

Things To Note

The driveway/path sleepers can be uneven and slippery when wet and therefore this property may not be suitable for guests with mobility issues.
There are two raised decking areas at the rear of the property which may not be suitable for young children (around a metre off the ground -- see photos.)

Fab holiday had by all including Holly the dog

Love the size of Skylark. So much room. Great position. Sat out on the back decking in the afternoon evening sun. Had everything you needed and more. Plenty of room in the oven for cooking nice meals then sat around the spacious table to eat before chilling out on the sofa. We all had a great time. Location is great too. Love coming here. Walk along the beach to Filey is so nice and relaxing

Another fab stay at The Bay

Had another great stay at The Bay. First time in this property- had everything you would need. The bedrooms were a lovely size and it was nice to have the option of a bath or a shower. A bonus was the two patio- one at the front and one at the back of the property, which I was lucky enough to be able to use due to the unexpected lovely weather! In a quiet area but close to all of the amenities. Didn't use the swimming pool but did enjoy lots of walks on the beach, straight from The Bay.

Christmas Break

Had a great time over the Christmas break. The accommodation was clean and in good order and we were made to feel very welcome with festive decorations and a wonderful hamper. Great location for access to the beach and good facilities on site and locally.

Home from home

What more can I say ….this place is definitely home from home! Clean, warm, comfortable, large living space with gorgeous log fire, luxurious bedrooms with bathrooms. What makes this special though is all the little extras that are provided - a very well stocked kitchen including a wealth of pans/ glasses/ crockery, dishwasher with tablets, blankets, games, toys for dogs…. Lovely week in quality accommodation

An excellent stay in high quality well managed and maintained beach house. Lovely décor and feel throughout the house, points to note and worthy of special mention include very nice and comfy beds particularly when compared to some others in properties I have stayed in at the same site over the years, lovely bedroom carpets and space, excellent ensuite and also plenty of outdoor patio areas with furniture and sunbeds available for use. Also living room area large and airy and again as a comparison to other experience in properties really felt the blinds in all rooms were lovely, spot on and quality, also larger than average TVs throughout the accommodation. The only negative and this is not a fault of the owner or the property but after an unpleasant experience from one of our party I feel the site owners / operators (Away Resorts) need to do something about the sleepers outside as the entrance path to the property - something that I have reported both verbally in site to reception and followed up in writing after leaving) as these are a great health and safety risk when wet. I just want to be clear that this comment has nothing to do with Fileybaydirect who we booked through, Paula and her team were absolutely fantastic from start to finish, knowledgeable, helpful, nothing was too much trouble and I would recommend the complete booking and holiday experience

Fabulous beach house

This was our second stay at Skylark. The property so is light, spacious and the beds very comfortable! The property is set back a little from the (very quiet) road which makes it feel fairly private. The kitchen is well equipped with an excellent dishwasher and large fridge freezer. Only things we missed were extra teaspoons and a whisk! The bathrooms are also great, but the shower would benefit from a handrail for safety, as there is nothing to hold onto other than the side of the shower screen. There are plenty of storage options in the bedrooms and loads of toys/games and jigsaws for children and adults. The host, Paula, is very accommodating and easily contactable if needed with nothing too much trouble. A great find.

A fabulous place to stay!

We had a lovely stay at Skylark. It was like a home from home with all you needed and with an added level of luxury. It was clean, spacious, light and airy with lots of outdoor seating. Having stayed at The Bay a few times, this was by far the best accommodation particularly as there were a couple of little ones who could enjoy the space. I am sure we will be back.

Short break ... amazing time!

We stayed in Skylark Beach House for 2 nights in June 2025. The communication with Filey Bay Direct during booking and pre arrival was faultless. The accomodation is incredible. Top notch! Clean (I mean spotless), beautifully decorated and furnished, amazing outdoor areas and just lovely little touches like fans, kids games, beach stuff even dog toys for dog lovers. Love it. Will be back!!!!

Fantastic Skylark

Wow!! What a fantastic stay we have just had at the Skylark for 10 nights. The position is really good, just far enough away from the amenities so you don't hear anything, but close enough to use them. We took 2 dogs and the side/rear of the property is really good to let them have a bit of a mooch before bedtime. The place has everything you need, and stuff you didn't know you need. Plenty of books, games, jigsaws, plenty of utensils, and everything was spotlessly clean. The beds are REALLY comfy, the showers are amazing. We've stayed at a few properties in The Bay and this is definitely in the top two, I'd even go as far to say joint first. Paula has been absolutely brilliant every time we have booked and we would highly recommend booking direct with her.5+ ⭐

Lovely beach chalet

Skylark is such a charming beach chalet. The sea side decor is lovely throughout the chalet. The chalet has plenty of books, games and beach equipment too. Outside pace is private and there are chairs out front and out the back to catch morning and afternoon sunshine (if you're lucky!).

A fabulous place

Skylark is a really lovely lodge with everything & more, you could possibly want for a holiday stay. The quality of the furnishings & facilities are excellent. We were blessed with very good weather allowing us to make full use of the front & rear patios, great for morning coffee/breakfast & evening drinks/meals. The location on the site & to the beach is brilliant. Paula as host provided a very prompt & helpful service. We will definitely be booking again.

Beautiful and comfortable holiday house

What a find! We wanted a short break for us and our labrador and this was perfect. Spacious, comfortable and everything you could possibly need in the kitchen and bathrooms. Short break by the sea with family, friends & our dog

Another lovely stay at Skylark. Excellent property, everything for a comfortable stay. Very easy access to the very large sandy beach, ideal for dogs as there are no restrictions. Very cold when the wind blows off the North Sea. This time we took the coastal bus to Scarborough & Bridlington (dogs allowed & no charge), bus stop at The Bay entrance.
