Every possible amenity in a gorgeous house
This is a beautiful house - a real home from home - in a typical Provencal village with restaurants and bakeries on the doorstep. The pool area is fabulous and the views from the upstairs balcony just stunning, particularly in the evening when you can watch the sun going down behind the mountains. Can't wait to go back.

Perfect house
Perfect house with good interior design and lots of coziness. New, well-equipped kitchen and nice bathroom on the 1st floor. A fantastic view from the terrace over the mountains. Well-ordered garden and beautiful large pool in beautiful surroundings with the possibility of sun and shade. Good opportunity for privacy on each floor if you are traveling together. 1 minute walk to the town's bakery, square and playground. The house appears better in reality than in the photo. 😁

About the host

Host profile image
I’m from Northern Ireland, but spend periods of time in France whenever possible. I love the French way of life - I find it less stressful. I’m especially fond of the Provence region. The sky is that Provençal blue - even in the colder months, it’s possible to find a sunny corner on one of the terraces. There is so much to explore: lots of beautiful, historic villages. I’m interested in food and cooking. I take delight in visiting the local markets - there’s a different one for every day of the week! It’s a real pleasure to buy such fresh ingredients, take them home and compose a great lunch or dinner. If cooking feels like too much effort, there are several restaurants ranging from the simple to gourmand, within easy reach.
Another great pleasure is music, and that’s very well catered for here. I hadn’t realised that there’s an internationally known Music Academy in Villecroze. Concerts are held throughout most of the year, usually in the Chapelle Ste Victoire, a hugely atmospheric setting just a short walk from the house. One magic experience was sitting in the garden, listening to a rehearsal for an open air concert in the village’s Theatre Verdure.

Why they chose this property

The house is ideally situated right on the edge of the village, so I can enjoy all the benefits of village life. A few steps brings you to the Village square, where you can just sit outside and people watch, or come in the evening to enjoy dinner at one of the restaurants. There’s a fantastic Patisserie in the village, as well as a small grocery and a great antique and decor shop.
A half hour drive brings you close to Lac Ste Croix and the Gorge du Verdon, where you can swim, hire a boat or a paddle board.
The village of Tourtour - one of the ‘plus beaux villages de France’ is a twenty minute drive away - or - if you’re feeling energetic, a walk up behind the village, starting on the old Roman road, will get you there in about forty minutes. The views are stunning.
Further afield, if you want to join the glitzy set on the coast, about an hours drive takes you to Ste Maxime. You can grab a spot on one of the beaches there, or take one of the Bateaux Verts which run every fifteen minutes across the bay to St Tropez (great market every Saturday)

What makes this property unique

Location - hard to beat.
The house itself is very comfortable with lots of outside spaces to relax in. Its proximity to the village doesn’t mean that you sacrifice privacy. The property is fully fenced and secluded.
A particular highlight is the pool. It’s quite big (10x5) so there’s plenty of room for games - or for swimming laps. At night, it’s lovely to switch the pool lights on and swim after dark. You can have a great time doing that - my grandchildren love it - or you can wander down to the square to see what’s going on there.
There is also a delightful covered terrace with a very pretty table and chairs for eight. It’s like having an outdoor dining room. Lovely for relaxing candlelit dinners. A gas barbecue makes cooking fairly painless!
