Region: From the lush green farmlands of the Borders to the ruggedness of the Highlands, the Scots are proud of their land and identity. Scotland also has some of Britain’s best beaches with glorious stretches of clean sand over which to roam.
Town: Between Dundee and Forfar, you'll find the charming village of Meigle. In the centre of the picturesque village is the Meigle Sculptured Stone Museum, which houses over thirty Pictish Stones and other carvings from as far back as the eighth and tenth centuries. Sir Henry Campbell-Bannerman, the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom from 1905 to 1908, is buried in the village. The Kinloch Arms Hotel is a pub serving a variety of traditional pub fare and drinks, and there is a local store where you can stock up on necessities. In addition to the impressive Glamis Castle, built in the 14th century, the nearby village of Kirriemuir is home to a museum honouring J. M. Barrie's birthplace and its rich history. Visitors to the Gin Bothy Experience can spend the day sipping afternoon tea and trying different kinds of gin. Or, if you're willing to travel a little further, the city of Dundee on Scotland's coast is home to a number of museums, such as the Verdant Works, HMS Unicorn, and the Dundee Museum of Transport. To get to know the rest of Perthshire, Meigle makes a great home base.

Very clean and comfortable property co-located in the grounds of the Ardler Tavern. Ideally located for our needs. Hosts Alan and Claire together with their staff at the Ardler Tavern were very friendly and helpful. The food and service at the Adler Tavern was excellent. Would highly recommend.
