Villa with Beautiful Garden And Pool in Spectacular Setting

A countryside haven with in easy reach of the shimmering Costa Brava and Girona. Situated within the national park of Les Gavarres, aside a picturesque, medieval village, the villa has breathtaking views and spectacular walks. Enjoy traditional features with modern comforts, surrounded by nature in a large private garden with pool.

CASA NOVA is on the estate of Mas Calvo. The houses share an entrance lined with cyprus trees and onsite parking.

If you rent the villa you will have total peace and tranquility and use of the enormous garden and pool, and fields that run on to the Gavarres National Park. There will be no one in the Masia, the garden is entirely yours. (While it is a large outside space, we do not allow events and there is a maximum 8 guests allowed at any time.)

CASA NOVA
The villa has been lovingly restored, with high ceilings and an open plan living area. Here you will discover treasures designed by local artists. A beautiful wrought iron balcony depicts sunflowers and birds, and encircles the large space. Two mosaicked bathrooms mimic the style of Gaudi.

The two bedrooms downstairs are light and airy and imbue the calmness of Mediterranean simplicity. One has twin beds that can be apart or together. The other a double bed. They share one of the delightfully tiled bathrooms with a bath and shower.
Upstairs, the large, master bedroom has an en suite, both a fire and a ceiling fan and a door that leads out onto the upper terrace. The house works for 2 - 8 people. If do not mind sharing there is another bedroom that adjoins the master bedroom - you have to walk through the master bedroom to reach it and the bathroom. This is a twin room and then the house can sleep 8. (This arrangement is suitable for families with small children or those that are happy to share.)

Please note there is no fence around the pool so this property is not suitable for families with children who can run but cant swim.

The upstairs terrace has dreamy views of the national park with an Ibizan style lounge bed and a built in backgammon table providing a fabulous place to watch some epic autumnal sunsets. The small upstairs sitting room has a sofa arranged in front of an open fire. All the bedroom have standing fans.

The modern kitchen has a brand new cooker and oven, large fridge/freezer, toaster, kettle, dishwasher and separate larder. It leads onto a patio that offers shaded, alfresco dining with its own barbecue. All beneath the grace of an ancient olive tree.

Inside you can move freely between the open plan kitchen and the dining area which also has a fire place. In winter the whole house has under floor heating. The house has a small utility room with a washing machine and outdoor clothesline. There is wifi.

You have your own outside eating area, garden furniture and large private terraces with views, seating, shade and sun. Play ping pong, swim in the hammock, jump on the trampoline or just relax by the pool.

THE ESTATE
The 100 acre estate runs into the Gavarres national park through un fallowed meadows providing stunning views and and uninterrupted peace. While we are close to the pretty and very tranquil, medieval village of Sant Marti Vell the house is surrounded by huge pine trees and you have wonderful peace and quiet.

The situation is idyllic and unique. I don't think there is any other private house in the area that can boast such a tranquil setting and be in walking distance of one of the best and affordable countryside restaurants. To be by such a pretty, medieval village while in a national park is amazing.

The house is not "Ikead," it has character and charm. The garden is huge and the pool at 11m, a perfect size. It really is a fantastic base to explore the medieval villages of Emporda, the beaches of the Costa Brava and the whole of Catalonia in general with the mountains, Girona, France and Barcelona also just a day trip away.
