Town: In addition to being located in the stunning western dales of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, the charming old market town of Sedbergh (pronounced Sed-Ber) is also near to the precipitous eastern fells of the Lake District. The town has been a lively village for hundreds of years, with a market dating from the 13th Century. It contains small stores, traditional bars, a notable school that dates back to 1525, and a church that dates to the 12th century. Dentdale, which extends 14 miles from the windswept moors below Whernside to the junction of the Rivers Dee and Rawthey, is the crown jewel of the Yorkshire Dales and is accessible from Sedbergh. It features rolling hills and dry-stone walls. Dent, with its historic cobblestone streets and Norman origins at the heart of the valley, is served by the renowned Settle-Carlisle railway line. The neighbourhood is a haven for walkers, ramblers, runners, and bikers because there are three golf courses nearby as well as tennis courts, riding stables, and fishing ponds. This, along with the serenity of the nearby valleys, the two National Parks, and the fact that it is England's book town, make it a perfect year-round holiday spot.
