Bad start

3 stars comprised of; 5 for area. Beautiful part of the world and cottage is well positioned for walks direct from the property as well as access to 2 charming pubs in the village. 3 for the property. Communal areas are spacious but the bedroom pick will definitely result in winners and losers with the master bedroom covering the space of 2-3 of the smaller ones. Photos of property taken on a fish-eye lens; if you are led to conclude there is a usable garden, you’re wrong 1 for the owner. Inept at taking payment and poor communication. The clincher though is that we when arrived, the driveway was blocked and a workman was in the property, radio on, doors open, adhesives blowing through all rooms. For the first 2.5 hours, that magical moment when you all converge on your holiday property, we were sat on beds waiting for the work to conclude not feeling inclined to unpack. The owner was keen to point out that we could not enter the property ahead of 3.30pm but this cuts both ways pal – at 3.30pm, the property should be perfectly usable. Of course this issue could have had a happier ending if the owner had reached out and apologised as he knew full well about our problems checking in but he didn’t so he gets to read about the varnish it took off the holiday for the first time on Homeaway.
