About this property
Luxurious, Contemporary Detached Holiday Home on a quiet cul-de-sac
Welcome to Carr House, a luxurious contemporary detached 4 bedroom holiday home in the idyllic South Lakes market town of Kirkby Lonsdale. Carr House benefits from a quiet cul-de-sac location, yet is only a 5 minute walk from the shops, restaurants and pubs of Kirkby Lonsdale and the River Lune. Immediately outside the property there is a patio, with furniture and a large gravelled area providing ample parking for 3 cars.
The 4 bedrooms include a king-size with an en-suite, a double and a twin (zip/link can be double on request), as well as a child's bedroom with bunk beds. There is a family bathroom, a separate W/C and an additional W/C, shower room on the ground floor. Also there is a kitchen, utility, dining room and a sitting room with a sofa bed. Travel Cot, available on request. Bed linen is included in the rental price and dogs are welcome but there is an additional cost for cleaning and they must be kept on the ground floor. Carr House sleeps 8 adults and is a fantastic property for a family or friends gathering.
Kirkby Lonsdale is a small and relatively unspoilt market town situated on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales National Park. Flanking the three counties of Cumbria, Lancashire and North Yorkshire as it does, the town offers a tranquil and picturesque base from which to explore the English Lake District, the Yorkshire Dales and the Forest of Bowland. Kirkby Lonsdale itself is a historic, quaint market town with a growing reputation for high quality independent shopping (it was runner-up in the 2016 Great British High Street Awards), as well as excellent restaurants, cafés and bars.
The Town is notably home to the 14th century Devil's Bridge, as well as Ruskin's View, which inspired a painting by artist JMW Turner in 1822, and poet John Ruskin to declare ‘I do not know in all my country, still less in France or Italy, a place more naturally divine.’
The region is a postcard panorama of craggy hilltops, mountain tarns and glittering lakes and Carr house is a great base to explore the amazing fells and countryside. With so much to see and do in the area, you can choose to keep yourself busy or perhaps simply relax and enjoy the peace and beauty that Kirkby Lonsdale has to offer.
