Ivy Cottage is a spacious, beautifully presented country cottage ideal for a perfect getaway for families and friends, set in an idyllic rural location in Casterton. New for 2023, the recently refurbished detached cottage is a charming home from home, with enclosed garden and far-reaching views across the Cumbrian countryside.

Sleeping 8 across four bedrooms; one super king bedroom with ensuite, two king size (one of which can be made up into a twin on request), and one twin room with family bathroom and additional downstairs toilet. In the heart of the house is an impressive light and airy fully fitted kitchen with all modern amenities, leading out through to the landscaped garden, a favourite place for guests to enjoy a morning coffee, afternoon tea or evening glass of wine. From the kitchen head through to a characterful dining room, a perfect place for family celebrations and creating those special holiday memories together.

Ivy Cottage offers plenty of spacious accommodation, enjoy the cosy ‘snug’ brimming with character and charm. Plus, additional lounge where you can spend an evening tucked up in front of the wood burner, with smart TV, Amazon Alexa and Wi-Fi included for your stay.

The cottage sits at the heart of the popular Lune Valley village of Casterton, next door to the 18th Century village coaching inn. Casterton has a 9-hole golf course open to non-members and set in beautiful scenery overlooking the town. There are many lovely local walks available from the doorstep with wonderful views all round.

Casterton is very close to Kirkby Lonsdale (a 35-minute pleasant walk or 5-minute drive). The town has many independent shops, bars and restaurants and Booths Supermarket. Home to Devils Bridge, a nature trail walk into the wooded gorge with spectacular views of the 300ft Mynach Waterfalls.

It’s a truly enchanting cottage full of period features, stunning gardens and contemporary comforts. With private parking for up to three vehicles, Ivy Cottage is a fantastic home from home to stay and unwind with children, grandparents and those of any age!

Cosy rural retreat.

Ivy Cottage offers extensive off-road parking with a large garden and lovely views. The accommodation is spacious and generously appointed. The property is superbly located for rural walks and right next door to the well-reputed Pheasant Inn (although this was closed for refurbishment during our stay) and within walking distance of the lovely town of Kirkby Lonsdale. Although generally well presented, the property could do with a deep clean and cobwebbing!

Beautiful area and Ivy Cottage has fantastic views. Nice spacious cottage, plenty of room as there was 8 of us staying for 5 days over Christmas. We used the log fire in the lounge every day and there was plenty of dry logs to use at the back of the house. Great pub next door, The Pheasant Inn and Kirkby Lonsdale is only a 7 min drive where there some lovely old pubs and great local shops. Booths Supermarket is close and has everything one needs. Beautiful walks close by as well. Will certainly consider a return during the summer months. Thanks, we had a lovely family Christmas.

Wonderful Holiday stay

Very nice cottage in the Dales. Our 10 month old granddaughter did splendidly during our stay. Cottage was as advertised. Six adults and our baby granddaughter had a wonderful stay. Good location for driving all around Yorkshire. Convenient to all necessities. Fully equipped kitchen. Gorgeous gardens!
