This charming stone cottage built in 1750, is located within a conservation area and is tucked away in the quiet village of Stour Provost, which is situated in the heart of Blackmore Vale.. Ground Floor:
Open plan living space.
Living area: Sky TV, Woodburner

Bathroom 1: Roll Top Bath With Shower Attachment, Heated Towel Rail, Toilet. Oil central heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi included. Initial fuel for wood burner included. Welcome pack. Rear garden with sitting-out area, BBQ and firepit. 2 small dogs welcome (please pick up after them). On road parking (please do not park on grass in front of the cottage, this is church property and access is needed at all times). No smoking. Please note: There are 4 steps in the garden. No children under 8 years old. . This detached cottage is the perfect place for a holiday either exploring the Dorset countryside or enjoying everything the property has to offer. Church House Cottage is perfect for up to four guests with a generous open-plan living space on the ground floor and a wonderful large garden surrounded by a wall. The living room has plenty of character with beams, stone walls and a wood burner for those cosy nights in. The kitchen is well-equipped and there is a separate toilet also on the ground floor.
Upstairs are two bedrooms, both featuring double beds complete with Egyptian cotton bed linen; with a separate bathroom located off the landing. Outside you can enjoy the enclosed private garden with views over the historic St. Michaels and All Angels Church built circa. 1308 whilst enjoying a morning coffee or evening meals/drinks under the stars ready for the next day. The local pub is a 25-minute walk across fields from the cottage or a 3-minute drive in the car.
With the location only a 5-mile drive from Shaftesbury, make sure you make the most of the stunning town centre, Shaftesbury Abbey, Gold Hill famous made from the Hovis advert plus the well-known local market, held weekly during the summer months which has been running for centuries. Three miles away is the town of Gillingham with a rich history dating back over 1000 years with several supermarkets. It is mentioned in a great deal of literature, including the work of Thomas Hardy. Nearby visit the stunning National Trust - Stourhead House and Gardens, Farmer Giles’ Farmstead, the Haynes Motor Museum with its fascinating collection of classic cars, and Yeovilton Fleet Air Arm Museum the home of Concorde and a large collection of naval aircraft. Explore the beautiful Marshwood Vale Dorset countryside, meandering down towards the World Heritage Coast, taking in Wareham, Lulworth Cove, Swanage and on to Weymouth, Poole and Bournemouth.
Inland you have the whole of Somerset within easy driving where you can enjoy excursions to Cheddar Gorge and Caves. Or enjoy a shopping day out at the enchanting spa town of Bath with its Roman Baths, museums or perhaps Wells Cathedral City. For a great family day visit Longleat House and Safari Park only 35 minutes drive from the cottage. For fisherman, visit Todber Manor Fisheries which offers several lakes to fish at, located less than 10 minutes’ drive from the cottage. Enjoy walking the dog on many fabulous local walks; don’t miss out on Duncliffe Wood and ancient woodland only 5 minutes in the car.

If you are taking your dog would you please take your own towel to dry them off when they have been on a wet and muddy walk. If you allow your dogs on the sofa, there are dog throws in the large whicker basket in the kitchen for them to lay on.
Please do not allow your dogs upstairs on the beds. At the end of the stay please clear any of your dogs poo off the lawn.
Please DO NOT park on grass in front of the cottage at any time or across the grass walkway, villagers need access and this area is church property. Steps to first floor are steep and there is a rope rail, please do not pull heavily on the rope rail.
Please ensure that all of your rubbish is disposed at the end of your stay, the rubbish collection days are stated in the handbook in the cottage. Thank you very much for your cooperation and I hope you enjoy your stay.
