The apartment comfortably sleeps 7 people maximum in 3 bedrooms and is ideally suited for families as the third bedroom has bunk beds and a further pull out single bed that is stored beneath the bunks if not required.
The apartment is accessed from the pretty street of Rue St Jacques. Access is on the street at ground level. Inside the main door you will have a view of the pretty courtyard and the apartment is situated up wooden steps to the left. There are 2 apartments on this staircase and the duplex is the second one up just a few more steps.
The private front door leads to the first floor where there are 2 bedrooms, one being the children’s room and sleeping 3 in single beds (bunk bed and pull-out). The other room has a day bed which opens to a queen size bed. These 2 bedrooms have access to a bathroom with bath and shower and an adjacent separate toilet. There is also ample wardrobe space for both bedrooms in the corridor just outside.
This floor also boasts a beautiful lounge area with high ceilings and beautiful original stone walls. There is a large wide-screen TV in this room and plenty of windows with impressive city views.
Stairs lead to the second floor where you will find a large family area containing the kitchen which is open-plan to the dining area and a further lounge area. There is a door to the master bedroom which has a queen size bed and en-suite bathroom.
The kitchen looks out over the old roman arena and to the other side is a wraparound terrace on 2 sides with views of the church and the old town. The terrace has a seating area for morning coffee in the sun and aperos in the evening.
The apartment is naturally warm in winter and cool in summer due to the amazing thick stone walls. There is however additional heating for the winter and fans for the summer.
The apartment is in the old city, with its picturesque winding streets and historical character. A great deal of the most interesting areas are within a short walk including the Allées Paul Riquet , Theatre, Cathedral, City Hall, several Museums and shopping district. The city has an excellent website that contains a great deal of information on practical matters such as garbage collection, parking, and the like, but also on attractions and activities. Access to the apartment is from the street entry by key box or greeted by local manager, Elena. In July and August Saturday arrival and departure only between 16h00 and 20h00
