Gite des Camélias - 30mins Puy du Fou

Gite des Camélias is a charming and spacious family holiday home on the Deux-Sèvres and Vendée border in western France, only 30 minutes from Puy du Fou.

Recently refurbished in 2022, it has 4 bedrooms for 8 guests - a master king bedroom with vaulted ceilings and large dressing area, another king bedroom with dressing area, a twin room and a smaller double. Plus it has a fantastic family bathroom including both a bath and a deluxe walk-in shower.

The large sitting and dining room has a flat screen TV with both British & French satellite channels. There is a separate games room with pool table, table football and darts. The kitchen is fully-equipped with a breakfast bar, electric oven, fridge/freezer and dishwasher.

There is also a boot room/utility room with washing machine, downstairs toilet and space for any canine companions. We welcome up to 2 large-medium sized dogs and 3 small dogs and there is a dog-friendly, fully enclosed garden with outside furniture and a boules pitch.

Only 30 minutes from Puy du Fou theme park and an hour from Futuroscope in Poitiers, it's a great location. The gorgeous sandy beaches of La Tranche-sur-Mer on the west coast are also about an hour away. It is located 75 minutes from Nantes, Poitiers or La Rochelle airports and 3.5-4 hours from the ferry ports of St Malo & Caen.

Gite des Caméliass a superb holiday home, perfectly situated in a region renowned for its warm, sunny micro-climate.

Magnifique maison au calme de la campagne vendéenne où nous nous sommes très vite sentis comme chez nous. Cependant la literie etait un peu molle à notre goût. Abi est une hôte très sympathique et très accueillante. Très bon séjour près du puy du fou.

Agréable séjour au calme

Tres belle maison superbement équipée ave avec tout le nécessaire aussi bien pour les besoins d hygiène d alimentation et de distraction. N étant pas un adeptes de la marche il y a moyen de découvrir bien sûr le puy ddu fou mais aussi plein de château et ville fortifiée aux alentours

My family and I live close to the gite, so can be available quickly, if required.

Why they chose this property

Nestled in a semi-rural location, south of Cerizay and north of Moncoutant in western France, Gite des Camélias has the perfect combination of being a rural retreat but with a good selection of local amenities not more than 10 minute drive away in either Moncoutant or Cerizay.

To experience the theme parks and the beautiful beaches as well as all the other amazing activities the region has to offer, then a car is advisable. Private off-road parking for two cars is available and it is directly outside the gîte.

If you like to cycle, the renowned La Voie Verte (an extensive car-free cycle route) is just on the doorstep and is also great for dog walks!

What makes this property unique

Additional points to note:
For all bookings November - March electricity will be charged according to usage, There is a log burning stove as additional heating and a welcome pack of logs will be provided free of charge during these months.
For stays of longer than 7 days, there is a weekly cleaning & garden service that operates and has an additional fee.
