Town: A lovely, lively town on the fringe of the Forest of Bowland Region of Outstanding Natural Beauty in Lancashire. Clitheroe is the excellent base for a trip, it offers a wonderful selection of all amenities from a local market to individual stores, plenty of pubs and restaurants to choose from. The town also includes a Grade I listed castle which also offers a maze and a museum for the youngsters to visit. On a wet day you can visit the Edisford Sports Complex with its swimming pool and football pitch. On the outskirts of Clitheroe there lies the old Brungerley Bridge and the activity-filled Waddow Hall is worth a visit. As well as the Forest of Bowland, the town falls within driving distance of the Yorkshire Dales National Park and the Nidderdale AONB, a fantastic position for you walkers and bikers.
