Thatch Cottage in Buckland Newton, Dorset sleeps six guests in three bedrooms.
The living areas in the property consist of a kitchen/diner equipped with electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and dining seating for six guests, a utility with washing machine and tumble dryer, a dining room with seating for six guests, a sitting room with open fire and a TV and a conservatory with TV. The bedroom consists of a ground-floor double, a double with en-suite shower room and a twin, along with a ground-floor bathroom. Outside there is an enclosed front and rear lawn with stream, garden bench, and wooden swing, along with off-road parking for two cars. Within 1.2 miles you will find a shop and within 0.9 miles, a pub and please note that two small or one medium well-behaved dogs welcome but sorry, no smoking. WiFi, fuel, power, bed linen and towels are all included in the price. Thatched Cottage is a lovely base from which to explore all that Dorset has to offer. Note: Check-in from 5pm, check-out at 10am.

The settlement is located 12 miles north of Thomas Hardy's Dorchester and 12 miles south of mediaeval Sherborne. A visit to the neighbouring historic Cerne Abbas, with its instantly iconic chalk giant and a variety of tea shops and inns offering authentic ales and delectable food, is not to be missed. Locally, there are great picturesque hikes to be enjoyed. As an alternative, head south to the remarkable Dorset Jurassic Coast, which has been named a World Heritage Site. There, you'll find plenty of sandy beaches and excellent facilities for all types of water sports. Golden sand beaches and a busy harbour are available in Weymouth, from where you can take a day excursion to the Channel Islands. From here, it's only a short drive to Portland Harbour and the wild "Isle" of Portland, which is connected to Weymouth by the breathtaking Chesil Beach.
