Premium Single Ensuite at Royal Ashton Town House

All single premium en-suites have a comfortable single bed, flat screen TV and tea and coffee making facilities. They also include a wardrobe/closet, refrigerator . Ensuites consist of shower (one single room has a bath and shower facility), toilet, towels and complimentary toiletries. Hairdryers are available on request.
Recently upgraded with new beds and freshly decorated, the Royal Ashton Hotel is in the heart of Taunton, just a short five minute walk from the train station, Somerset County Cricket ground and the town centre.

The hotel provides comfortable accommodation at great value starting with single and double rooms with access to communal kitchens, as well as a 2 bedroom self-contained flat at the rear of the hotel.

Surrounding Taunton, you can discover the delights of the Somerset countryside. With the Quantocks, Exmoor, Mendips, Somerset Levels and Blackdown Hills, there is ample choice to keep keen hikers, explorers and cyclists entertained.

The Royal Ashton Town House is a convenient and comfortable central base in Taunton.

The hotel was a friendly, welcoming, and conveniently accessible base to make most parts of central Taunton well within easy walking distance. There were all sorts of urban facilities nearby, including several places to eat, drink and shop. The accommodation itself seemed to have been recently refurbished or modernised, so all the room furnishings and fittings were clean and new. My stay there was entirely satisfactory and enjoyable.

The staff were all friendly, helpful, flexible and accommodating. Very good. Accommodation and facilities basic but exactly as expected and advertised: it's terrific and rare to have that clarity up front. (That means the out-of-5 ratings reflect that expectation, as opposed to Claridges.)

Very agreeable!

Friendly welcome, excellent location for my purposes, decor all new and well presented. I liked having the little fridge in the room. Ground floor room a little bit noisy at times as it is right next to a busy road and footpath. Wifi good, shower good.

Very Happy With Everything

The room was simple but very comfortable, and the bathroom had a bath, which is unusual for a small single room! I was made to feel very welcome. The room was on the ground floor with its windows right next to the busy street pavement, and as it was warm I had to open the windows. This made it rather noisy, but that couldn't be helped! Fortunately, it cooled down when darkness fell, so I didn't have to have the windows open all night.
