Beautiful, thatched cottage situated in Blaenpennal 6 miles from Llanrhystud and 13 miles from Aberystwyth, set in approximately a third of an acre with the River Teifi running alongside the garden.
The property benefits from an open plan kitchen and dining area with underfloor heating and well-equipped for the budding chef on holiday to whip up a delicious feast. A fabulous living room with an enormous inglenook fireplace, exposed beams and stone walls, makes a perfect spot to relax at the end of a busy day exploring the local area. A utility room with washing machine can also be found on the ground floor. Completing this floor are two bedrooms, one a double with its own en-suite wet room and the second a sumptuous super kingsize bedroom. The family is also downstairs with a bath and separate shower cubicle you’ll be able to wash off the day’s grime in no time. A final twin bedroom is found upstairs on the first floor. The outside area of the property is perfect for those wanting to get together to celebrate or to simply enjoy the natural sounds of the countryside.
The area itself has lots to offer, including fantastic walks around the nearby Cambrian Mountains and Cors Caron Nature Reserve, which offer breath-taking views across the magnificent scenery, where buzzards and red kites soar high. The area is considered as a natural playground for ramblers, mountain bikers and climbers alike, with lots of Iron Age settlements dotted around the county. Away from the countryside, Ceredigion’s coastline is just as promising, where the picturesque harbour towns of New Quay and Aberaeron offer irresistible restaurants, boutique shopping and unblemished beaches, where bottlenose dolphins and seals may be seen on a clear day!
Take a delightful stroll from Aberaeron town along the leafy pedestrian track to Llanerchaeron, an elegant Georgian villa set in the wooded Aeron Valley. Remarkably unaltered for over 200 years, this self-sufficient estate includes a farm, walled gardens and a lake, and is now run by the National Trust. Enjoy a coffee and a cake here before taking a leisurely stroll back. If you want to explore a little further afield, the whole of Ceredigion and Cardigan Bay awaits. There are 60 miles of glorious coastal path if you enjoy walking, and lots of towns and villages to explore. Visit the Victorian seaside resort of Aberystwyth, with its pier and promenade, or take the steam railway to Devils Bridge. Penpompren is close to the coastal path and beaches of Cardigan Bay. Beach 8 miles.
