SPECTACULAR VIEWS!-Luxury Beachfront Townhome with DIRECT Ocean Views!

WAKE UP TO A VIEW OF WAVES CRASHING SOFTLY ON THE SAND!!! The Salty Dawg is an amazing, luxury townhome, in Perdido Key, Florida, which directly faces the Gulf of Mexico. It is decorated and furnished NOT as a rental property, but rather as an opulent yet comfortable beach retreat for discerning guests (don't take my word for it, read our past clients' reviews). It boasts a direct, unobstructed view of the ocean from the family room AND the master bedroom. On cool summer evenings, you can open the sliding glass door in the Master, lie down on the pillow top king size bed, and be lulled to sleep by the gentle sound of crashing waves. This unit sleeps 4 adults and 4 children comfortably with KING BEDS in the third floor master bedroom as well as the second floor guest bedroom. Both of the king bedrooms also have en suite bathrooms. The third guest room shares the top (third) floor with the Master and sleeps up to four people in twin bunk beds, a separate twin bed, and a trundle bed. The Salty Dawg has a functional and well-appointed kitchen with brand new, top of the line, Kitchen Aid appliances, including both a convection range and a convection microwave.

The Salty Dawg is one of just six units in this small, intimate, private complex. That means that you won’t be fighting for space on the beach or waiting on overcrowded elevators as you might in a high density condominium, during peak season. This home has its own private exit to the beach with a rather unique “bonus” feature; it has a huge, covered, screened in porch/outdoor living room on the bottom level facing toward the ocean. On the porch, you and your friends and family can enjoy a pleasant summer evening while engaging in a seriously challenging game of “Bimini Ring”.

Another unique and convenient feature to this home is its fully enclosed garage, which is large enough for a Chevy Tahoe.

Wonderful View, Perfect Location

This was our second stay at this property and it did not disappoint! The location is perfect and it's really nice having the private beach for such a small row of townhouses. You don't have to compete with a bunch of other people like you do in the bigger buildings. The beds are comfy, and everything is clean and well kept. The owner provides a lot of useful information in the welcome packet including a great list of restaurants. We can't wait to come back!

PERFECT beach rental for families of all ages

The Salty Dawg is beachfront and just steps away from the water with great views from both balconies. The beds are super comfortable with no complaints from adults or kids. The sunroom is so cute and we were able to leave our sandals and beach bags there after long days at the beach. There is also a personal water hose right outside the door. So nice!This location will spoil you. It is very close to Publix, CVS, multiple souvenir stores, Shrimp Basket, and Vampire Penguin shaved ice. The owner is very nice and responsive. We didn’t want to leave and look forward to staying there again!

Quick Trip to the Beach

The townhouse was great!! It was well appointed with all the amenities you could ask for! The screened in porch was great to come into after a long day at the beach and leave all of your sandy things downstairs. The location was awesome! We had our own private beach and the townhouse was close to some great restaurants and shopping. Could not have asked for more! The owner was super easy to work with!

Perfect vacation

We loved that the building was smaller. More of a townhouse. There were other tenants but we weren't always on the beach at the same time so we felt like we had our section of beach to ourselves. The unit was clean, stocked, and very pretty. We have no complaints and would highly recommend this place

Found the perfect beach home!

I have been looking for the best beach home for my family for almost ten years and we finally found our "forever" beach home! The family members who love to soak up the sun are blessed by the short walk right to the private beach. We were able to go back and forth to go to the bathroom, eat lunch, and put the baby to bed for nap. For the non beach members of the family, they enjoyed relaxing on the squishy couches with the porch door open and reading books. The kitchen is well stocked, there is plenty of space, beds are cozy, and the location cannot be beat!

Great stay for spring break

We had a wonderful stay at the Salty Dawg!! The location could not be beat, right on a beautiful beach, with easy access to lots of nearby restaurants and entertainment in Perdido Key and in Orange Beach. Communication with the owners was excellent - we received a welcome packet with detailed info far in advance (including info on viewing the Blue Angels, which we wouldn't have planned for otherwise as was a highlight of our trip!), as well as communication the day before arrival. The house itself was spotless and well decorated, kitchen was well equipped, and all the beach supplies and toys we needed. We couldn't have been happier with our stay and would love to come back and visit again. Thank you for the wonderful vacation!

Perdido Getaway

Beautiful townhome in great location! Loved our stay. Short walk to the beach. My only suggestion would be to provide a keypad entry for the back door. Locking up and walking around the front of the complex was a small inconvenience. Also, for reference- my Yukon did not fit in the garage. Beach is private but the complex next door is very full and close and they spill over into this private area. Overall we loved the Salty Dog and the owner was great. Would def recommend and stay again.

Convenient and Clean!!

Loved the screened in area to store beach chairs, umbrellas, etc. without packing upstairs daily and limiting sand in townhouse. Nice supply of beach supplies available for use that came in handy when one of our personal beach chairs broke! Private beach area allowed us to have a front row setup without getting up super early. The pay it forward concept allowed us to checkin 2 hours early! We would definitely book again! Thank you!!

We loved the condo! Overall the condo was one of the nicest we have stayed at. No complaints of the unit or the owner. The owner was quick to text back to any questions I had. The unit was. 5 star. If I had any recommendations it would only be on the walk to the beach. It would be nice if there was a wooden walkway out to where the beach starts. Overall the condo itself was. 5 star!!!

Perfect Condo Stay with Amazing Views and Great Location

Everything about this condo is fantastic: 1. The host is incredibly responsive and accommodating. 2. The condo is clean, spacious, and well-maintained. 3. It has a private beach shared among just six condos, and it’s only a 2-minute walk away. 4. The view is perfect, especially from the second floor. 5. The condo comes equipped with beach chairs, an umbrella, and beach toys. 6. The location is excellent, with many restaurants and a grocery store within a 5-minute drive. There’s even a pizza place right across the road. It’s also very close to Orange Beach, where there’s plenty to do. 7. I’ve stayed in multi-story condos before, but I definitely prefer the cozy, homey feel of this one.

Fantastic Stay

The location of this rental couldn't be better. Situated right on the beach, it offered unparalleled private access to a private beach with pristine sands and emerald waters of Perdido Key. Upon entering the house, we were immediately impressed by how well-stocked and meticulously clean it was. The owners have clearly put a lot of thought and effort into ensuring that guests have everything they need for a comfortable and enjoyable stay. From kitchen essentials to beach gear, we lacked nothing during our time here. The layout of the house was perfect for our family, providing ample space for relaxation and recreation. We particularly enjoyed the open-concept living area, where we could gather for meals, games, or simply to unwind after a day of beach activities. The bedrooms were cozy and inviting. Communication with the property owner was seamless, and they were incredibly responsive to any questions we had. We found our permanent rental for Gulf vacations! With its unbeatable location, well-stocked amenities, and pristine condition, it exceeded our expectations in every way. We can't wait to return and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a beachfront getaway in this beautiful area.

I was born in Pensacola FL, son of a Pensacola native who married a Naval officer, whom she met during his flight training. I grew up enjoying the Pensacola area, its beaches, the great people and amazing history it has to share. After years in the General Contracting trade, building, rebuilding and remodeling dream homes for clients in places like Atlanta, GA, Park City, UT and New Orleans, LA, my wife and I were drawn back to settle down near our roots in The South. Prior to moving back we frequently rented properties at the beach for our own vacations. Many were nice and reasonably well kept, but often times, the units were "rental caliber", filled with disgusting 20+ year old furniture and bed mattresses.

We made the decision that if we were going to invite guests to stay in our properties, then they needed to be treated as... our honored guests!!! The FIRST thing that we do to any of our units is remodel it as if we were staying there (because we frequently do). And I don't mean redo it to newer "rental caliber" (my wife has MUCH higher standards than that), but redesign each unit into a luxury beach home to every extent possible.

I never want to be embarrassed to have guests stay in one of my properties. I am local to the area and a skilled contractor! If you find something in one of our units which you feel is deficient, even if it's just a blown light bulb or a single drip of water under a sink, PLEASE email, text or call me so I can fix it ASAP. My eyes are getting older, so I am grateful to anyone who can help me find something I missed.

Why they chose this property

This beautiful beachfront property is in a low density complex (just 6 units share the private beach), located in the heart of Perdido Key with no neighboring high rises for a hundred of yards or more in either direction.

Perdido Key has excellent proximity to amenities in Orange Beach and Pensacola; including NAS Pensacola and the National Naval Aviation Museum (the world’s largest Naval Aviation museum and one of the most-visited museums in Florida). NAS Pensacola is also the home and HQ of the Blue Angels. On many weekdays between March and October, The Blues can be seen practicing overhead on Perdido Key (their practice schedule can be found online).

This area is much less crowded than neighboring Orange Beach and Gulf Shores thanks to a decade long building moratorium (which has just recently been lifted) and sensible project approval by the planning commission. More importantly, roughly 60% of the island of Perdido Key is occupied by The Gulf Island National Seashore and The Perdido Key State Park, further ensuring that this relaxed little island paradise will continue to resist the overbuilding and overcrowding which plagues so many other beach communities. When our island was discovered by Spanish explorers in 1693, they appropriately named it Perdido Key, or “Lost” Key. Come and personally experience that sense of getting "lost in paradise".

What makes this property unique

This home is fairly unique among condos and townhomes in that it has both an enclosed garage and, as a huge bonus, a large secured, screened in porch area on the ground floor. This protected outdoor space acts as a second living room and/or relaxation area, allowing adults and children distinctly separate areas to congregate and enjoy the beach lifestyle.
