Puzzle Beach House is a boutique 3 bedroom (a/c) modern villa, on one of the most beautiful beaches. Fully staffed, our beach house is Ideal for families or couples.

Our villa features two family friendly pools, large entertainment areas & tropical gardens. Our wonderful on-site staff will provide complimentary breakfast, with guests also having access to their own private kitchen & high-speed internet.

The space
Our private villa is a stylish three bedroom (air-conditioned) oasis on the beach. A sublime design, that seamlessly melds indoor and outdoor areas.

Think of Puzzle Beach House as your private retreat on the beach. Indulge in sensory bliss. The sounds of the ocean will soothe your soul. You will be pampered from the moment you arrive.

Our tropical garden provides guests with privacy and features two swimming pools joined via an underwater swim through porthole and an invigorating outdoor shower.

Peacocks, Kingfishers, Monkeys, and fire-flies are commonly seen on the property, providing our guests with a memorable tropical experience on Sri Lanka's magical Southern coast.

Guests will enjoy their own fully equipped kitchen with complimentary coffee and tea sourced from Sri Lanka's famed Hill Country. Glass bottled purified drinking water is included. Our cook can cook lunch or dinner for you for a small additional fee. And he can source local organic produce at cost price from nearby markets.

Upstairs:

The upstairs beach-view verandah is a perfect happy hour or breakfast location. It offers panoramic views over the the extensive white-sand beach and the ever pulsating Indian Ocean. There's never a dull moment watching the ocean. The view is further complimented with dozens of gently swaying coconut trees courtesy of the wonderful sea breeze.

The natural tropical garden features two pools (children’s and adult), and an outdoor entertainment area. A purpose built fire pit to roast marshmallows or to simply enjoy visually. A BBQ to sizzle the fresh seafood bounty, built in outdoor furniture, day beds and direct access to the powder white beach and azure ocean.

Our absolute beach front location, allows one to bask under the sun and enjoy uninterrupted sunset and sunrise views. At night, as if on cue, fire-flies will begin their merry dance.

All three bedrooms are air-conditioned. The two master bedrooms have super comfy King size beds, ocean views and have fully integrated bathroom which we call the sun-moon bathroom. This hybrid indoor/ outdoor bathroom space is a special place to enjoy your rain shower surrounded by lush tropical plants, under the stars or beautiful day light. An awe-inspiring way to greet the morning or to help unwind after a day on the beach or sights.

Each of the two master bedrooms have 'Hollywood' style lit mirrors in the dressing areas, with two basins . Large built-in cupboards provide separation and practical storage area for your clothes and belongings.

The third air-conditioned bedroom is a hybrid large family room/ kids sleeping area. With one very comfy single bed and ample sofa style sleeping area on our built in huge sofas for another two people.

This area will comfortably sleep up to three people. It has been especially designed for kids. They love this room. It has its own separate stairwell access from the ground floor, and therefore access to a separate bathroom downstairs.

If you desire, this room can also directly access either of the two master bedroom bathrooms. Privacy is fully controlled with lockable doors.

The third bedroom / family room is complete with a TV. The bedroom enjoys stunning garden views over our entrance courtyard. We find this area a great chill out area to watch movies with the family and a great sleeping area for the kids at night. It is a super fun, large room with massive ceiling height.

The balcony directly outside the beach-side master bedroom suites is perfect for basking in the sun, leisurely breakfasts, sunset cocktails or indulging in your favorite reading foda. The view of the ocean is both breathtaking and expansive. Next land encountered is the Antarctic. This fully explains the crystal-clear waters you overlook.


Ground Floor:

The moment you enter the 'big blue gate' you will be welcomed by a quaint front yard complete with four beautiful frangipani trees. The landscaped entrance over a lotus pond complete with our resident Koi fish 'Bill & Ben' is complimented by our 150 year-old Jaffna antique entrance doors. These gorgeous doors open onto a lobby area featuring a signature peacock antique piece.

The typical Sri Lankan open-plan living space features high ceilings, with a kitchen, dining, and living area. The ground floor area is designed to provide a great platform for socialising. The area boasts excellent views over the swimming pool and ocean. The open design ensures excellent air movement and ventilation.

Eating in the dining area is pure joy. You are overlooking the swimming pool and ocean front. The open show kitchen allows you to watch our cook going about his craft whilst you enjoy the peace and tranquility as the sound of the waves gently melt into your soul.

The living area sofas can be used for chilling out, reading your favourite reading material or double up as huge day beds. Lounge like a lizard.

The open dining area incorporated into the living area is overlooking the pools. The solid-wood table can seat up to eight people comfortably.

There is a changing room, drying room, washing machine, dryer and linen cupboard. There is also a bathroom with shower. Laundry services are available for a small additional fee.

Outdoor Area:

We also have an outdoor entertainment area next to the pool. This comprises of two large outdoor sofas, fire pit, additional seating around a coconut tree.

Beach Side:

We have two deck chairs and two sun beds right on the beach. Grab a book, fresh coconut, slap on some sunscreen and bask in the warm rays of the sun and the soothing sounds of the Indian Ocean will transport you away...

Puzzle Beach House is tastefully decorated in a rich Mediterranean feel by designer Sabrina Rennie. The ambience is warm zen-like, with a distinctly friendly atmosphere. The villa is staffed with a cook/ house help, and night watchman.

There is a Golf Course within 5 minutes that located on the picturesque Koggala Lake and a gym at the nearby 5-star Fortress Hotel. You can fish, surf, sun bake or dive right out front of the property.

Complimentary canvas tote bags are available for your usage, to help cut the need for plastic whilst shopping in nearby supermarkets and local markets.

Guest access
You are able to access all parts of the property except the staff quarters, generator room, store area, and laundry area. All other areas are yours to exclusively use.

If you need clothes washed, we have a staff member that can handle this for an additional fee.
Other things to note
A Puzzle Beach House continental breakfast is included in your stay.

This includes: Coffee or the excellent Sri Lankan Tea, A juice of the day, Sri Lankan Traditional Wood-fired bread, jams, butter, and two-eggs cooked any way you like (poached, pan-fried, scrambled or boiled).

We also have additional breakfast options for reasonable costs.

Guests will enjoy their own fully equipped kitchen with complimentary coffee and tea sourced from Sri Lanka's famed Hill Country. Glass bottled purified drinking water is included.

Our cook is skilled and can provide his services for lunch and dinner for a small additional cooking fee.

He will even do the shopping for food items at cost price. Simply provide an advance payment and he will provide the receipts.

Our cook also has mastered the art of Singapore style 'Chilli Crab', Pepper Crab or Poached herb Crab.

Outside of the Lobster and Crab special set-fee menu, our cook can also cook a wide array of other meals for you.

You also have the option to use the kitchen to cook for yourself with items you purchase.

Galle and the Fort is only a short drive from Puzzle Beach House. A casual 5-minute beach stroll from the villa, there are a number of sophisticated beach front dining options as well as local fare. There is a turtle hatchery (which kids love) within a few minutes walk along the beach.

Our prime beach location is also a favorite place for turtles to lay their eggs. You can even donate small money and release baby turtles to the ocean.

You can surf right out front. Most days it is the entire beach to yourself. Sometimes you may have a surf school or a well versed local to share the beauty.
