Overall a good location, quiet, within easy reach of the towns of Cahir and Clonmel. However it's the little things that can make all the difference and when added all together...If you fear spiders - the Loft was full of cobwebs - on day one I spent an hour vacuum cleaning them, still that wasn't enough but tolerable. No wardrobe for clothes - there were two unusable ramshackle standing cabinets with old brown newspapers. (Why?)Nowhere to hang wet towels or wet clothes, nor a shelf in the bathroom for ones toothbrush etc.The toilet seat was broken. The fridge - the bottle shelf in the door was missing. And finally two of the five skylights had blinds but both were broken. All these things that can be easily remedied, hopefully, for the next guest.

Schöne Lage und Unterkunft mit Haken bzw. Schrauben

Amazing stay in a beautiful place

The stay at Mrs Delaney's loft was exactly what we were looking for, a beautiful loft in a sleepy village and close to incredible views, sights and not too far from the incredible south coast. The loft and the surrounding farm are so tranquil and cosy, we are definitely going to stay here again!

A hidden gem in the Irish country side!

I came to Ireland to discover it and staying at Mrs. Delaney's loft enabled me to do just that! How wonderful to wake up to the sound of birds, cows and the rooster - no light pollution and very little traffic. This is an idyllic spot for people who want to feel what life in Ireland is like. Our hosts were very gracious and kept a lovely balance between attending to our needs (which were not many) and giving us total privacy. The accommodations were very comfortable and well equipped and cooking was easily facilitated. The hosts provided an enthusiastic selection of local and national historical books for browsing including one with the history of the village that was fascinating. The loft does not have wifi but some of us are trying to escape that! If required, one can pick up wifi at the local pub a short distance away. Ardfinnan is off the beaten track but is so close to so many local and historic wonders. Day trips to Blarney, Cahir, Cashel, Waterford, Cobh and all sorts of places are entirely possible and recommended. It is also a sheer pleasure to just go for a lovely walk on the local roads. I cannot say enough good things about this accommodation and the hosts and I feel very fortunate to have found this treasure. Thank you!
