The home was ready with all the details in order. Host was an absolute pleasure to work with and very accommodating. I brought some of my supplies from home and never needed them. The kitchen is laid out absolutely wonderful to cook in.
Six family members, ages 21 to 68, traveled here for a high school graduation and Tara House served us all well. The historic house is very well done and has everything you need. The beds are comfy and the kitchen was perfect for making meals. Lovely outdoor spaces - spent a lot of time on the back private patio. Having so much parking is also a tremendous plus. Super easy to get to everything right off the interstate. Great stay!!
The house is in a great location right in the heart of Pueblo. We rode our bikes downtown to the various pubs and restaurants, and it was an enjoyable stay. The neighborhood is a little sketchy, but we didn't have any issues with the people. The house was well furnished with all the necessary household items you'd need for a stay. If returning to the area, we would stay there again -- it was of good value for what we paid.
The home is located walking distance to historic downtown area, Starbucks and the Pueblo Riverwalk. Plenty of restaurants and shopping are accessible from this quiet, out of the way neighborhood.
Older boys used mountain bikes located in the carriage to ride along the Fountain River. Pueblo has more than 40 miles of interconnected bike trails. The home is a great launching point for day rides.
Bedrooms and kitchen spaces were excellent for rest and meal preparations. Upgraded appliances and decorative touches help retain the Victorian feel of the property.
I highly recommend this "Enchanted home" for anyone visiting Pueblo/Colorado Springs. The pictures on this site do not do justice to this quaint but spacious antique home. The vintage furniture and aesthetics were awesome. The rooms were spotless. The bedrooms were spacious and had very comfortable beds. The kitchen was spacious and clean. you can tell they pay attention to the details. It definitely felt like our home away from home. The location was very close to the interstate for easy access to travel. The owner was easy to communicate with and quick to respond. When visiting USAFA in Colorado Springs we will definitely return to this home.
What an incredible home. The neighborhood can feel a bit sketch, but the neighbors are amazing and this house and location a win win. We walked to so many places downtown, and the drive time to everything we needed was minimal and super convenient. This house has so many amenities, and the yard space is fantastic. We cooked at home every night while there on a business trip, and ate fresh tomatoes and strawberries from the backyard garden. Security is quite good. This historic house is so well done and I really appreciated how it embraced the sense of community and rejuvination Pueblo is experiencing. If you need a kitchenmaid mixer, they have it. Need a fresh chili? Growing seasonally in the garden. Extremely comfortable home close to everything.
Beautiful house located conveniently close to I-25. House was spotless. The owner was extremely helpful and responsive. I hope to stay there again soon.
We had employees from Portland, Oregon working at the Steel Mill in Pueblo. We like to give them a comfortable place to relax, do laundry and cook a meal after a long day. This property was perfect for this!
John runs a tight ship and is a very professional host. The house was plenty of room for the three of us and overall the amenities worked well (WiFi was rather spotty and temperamental). Lots of colorful characters in the neighborhood who provided some great people watching on the front porch.
Nice private BbQ area out the back. Had a few questions for John over the period of our stay and he sorted us out right away.
Great access to the highway to drive and easy walking distance for anything downtown.
We would absolutely stay here again next time we’re in town.
Beautiful house, great parking, close (for Colorado) to all the places we wanted to go. We totally enjoyed our trip to ski and see family. Thank you!

This home was awesome! We spent a week here with family and we could not have had a better experience. John, the owner was responsive and very kind! This is the best kept secret in Pueblo!

I grew up in Denver and made a career in Real Estate. Residential property in Denver became too expensive so I looked south to Pueblo. Stumbling on the property, it was impossible to resist the potential of the home. The location was fabulous with it's close proximity to downtown and the interstate. The house had some awesome features, a great floor plan, and some updating had already been done.
I hadn't realized the incredible history of Pueblo until after I purchased the home and started spending time there. With the help of a local historian, we were able to determine the house was most likely built around 1890. I decided to name the home Tara House. 'Tara' is a given name with multiple meanings in different cultures. It has taken a couple of years to get the house and grounds to the beautiful state they are in. It has been a ton work but loads of fun. I hope you will enjoy Tara House and Pueblo as much as I do.
From the moment you step onto the front porch and into the foyer, you will be awed by the ambiance of the home. To your right is the parlor with gas fireplace. Beyond that is a huge great room where you will find the living and dining room. Then there is the huge gourmet kitchen just remodeled. It is fully equipped to prepare your favorite meals. Explore upstairs where you will find the master suite, and two more bedrooms, one in the turret and other with a veranda. BBQ on the back patio which has a vegetable garden. Take in the morning sun with your coffee on the south patio with pergola. Take a stroll downtown on the Riverwalk and shop antique and art galleries. There's plenty to do within a couple blocks of Tara House in Downtown Pueblo.
