About this property
A beautifully restored hall (PH)
Pinchington Hall is a recently restored and beautifully appointed Manor House dating back to the mid-19th century and situated close to Greenham Common. The hall has now been turned into luxury accommodation.
Featuring private grounds and lots of parking, the hall benefits from a range of luxurious bedrooms and ensuite bathrooms, and plenty of space to host your occasion in beautiful surroundings. From the moment you walk into the Great Hall, Pinchington will take your breath away.
Pinchington Hall has been carefully restored and renovated throughout to create a truly impressive property offering a variety of possible uses including a fabulous family home and get together for special occasions. Built of mellow bath stone and originally dating from the sixteenth century, the house was destroyed during the Victorian era and rebuilt by the end of the 19th century.
Pinchington Hall has undergone complete renovation and refurbishment inside and out, and the exterior stonework has been painstakingly restored by a local stonemason. The vast sash windows, together with the roof lantern in the main reception hall, fill the building with natural light and the high ceilings and excellent room proportions create a sense of space and grandeur.
The reception hall is surrounded by a galleried landing above, and the original wide, turning staircase has been maintained and restored. Attractive oak flooring has been laid throughout the ground floor. The property has been renovated to suit 21st century living standards, with underfloor heating installed through the whole building and new double-glazed sash windows.
The bathrooms are fitted with high quality, modern fittings and large chrome and glass showers.
Pinchington Hall is the perfect mix of period classical architecture and state of the art, comfortable modern living.
Pinchington Hall is conveniently located close to Newbury and the larger commercial town of Reading. There are excellent road and rail communications in the area and both the M4 (J12 and J13) and A34 are easily accessible, giving fast access to Heathrow Airport and London. There are good train services from Thatcham, Newbury and Reading into London Paddington, and from Basingstoke into London Waterloo.
Local amenities are available in nearby Brimpton which has a public house, church, hairdresser and village hall, and there is a village shop in Crookham Common. In addition, Newbury and Reading provide an extensive range of shopping, leisure and sporting facilities.
The surrounding area is well known for its beautiful countryside, and is a popular location for walking and riding. The beautiful Kennet and Avon Canal is nearby, and there are a number of village pubs in the local area. There is a wide choice of schools nearby including Elstree, Cheam, Horris Hill, St Gabriels, Bradfield College, Pangbourne College, Downe House and St Gabriel’s.
The grounds have been newly landscaped and are mainly laid to lawn with two large terrace areas to the east and south, and mature trees and hedging on the southern boundary. The main garden area is south-facing and enjoys a sunny aspect for the majority of the day. Historically there was a tennis court on the south lawn.
The property is approached through electric metal gates down a sweeping gravel drive to a turning area at the front of the house.
