This old converted wind mill is in a quiet village and is beautiful. The host was most helpful during our stay. If you are looking for something unusual and peaceful The Millhouse is perfect. There are several steps to get to your apartment located at the top of the windmill and after entering you have 3 floors. My husband and I are in our 70s and we did not find it difficult at all. We found several bakeries close by that had the best pastries I have ever tasted. WONDERFUL!,Irene from NC USA
The mill llies quite central in Belsele, a nice little town situated in the triangle between Antwerpen, Gent and Brussels. All cities are well in reach and Belsele even has a railway station for going there.
The surroundings of Belsele are surprisingly interesting and there are many natural reserves along the Durme river that are truly worth a visit (birds, amphibia and even very good accomodations like the "Wuitensnest" near Hamme).
Everything around our stay in the mill (reservation, accomodation and support) was very satisfying. Reception was easy and friendly, the help we needed with little problems was quick and easy.
The building is beautifully restored and the flat itself is in the upper half of the tower-like building, stretching over three floors. The rooms' interiors are very modern but retains some of the feeling of living in a historical building. The only caveat (which comes with the type of building) is that you need to have some affinity to relatively steep wooden stairs; we very much liked it but it might need some consideration.
All in all a great stay with friendly accomodation in a welcoming town.
