The location is a distance from the old part of Rome. The metro station by the flat was closed all but one day while we were there, and it took us 45 minutes to one hour on a very quaint but very crowded tram to get anywhere. The day the metro was open, it was a much easier, though still crowded. Note: we went during a Jubilee year, so Rome was more crowded than usual. Having the tram as a backup to the metro saved us having to take buses into the heart of the city. That said, the neighborhood was delightful. There are many wonderful restaurants close by and a supermarket two blocks away. There was construction right next door, but we left early enough that it never bothered us. The apartment is light, spacious for three people, airy and clean. There is on bedroom with a full bed and excellent cabinet/closet space. The other room has two twin beds that were comfortable enough if a little squeaky. Our host and his son met us at the train station, walked us to the flat and helped us with our bags. They were very nice. They were easy to communicate with and left a binder with excellent suggestions for places to eat. They explained all aspects of the flat. My husband it 5'11'' and the shower was a little low for him, and the pressure is on the low side. We were delighted to discover bottled water waiting for us in the fridge. We would stay here again. The tourist tax is a real thing, and it helps hosts in Italy to pay it in cash/Euros.
