Back to nature, away from the crowds? When you arrive at our house, you can enjoy the vast open spaces and the tranquility. At night, you’ll be visited by deer, foxes, and moose (if you don’t make too much noise), and you can completely unwind in the sauna (with a view of the forest) or in the hot tub (in the summer). Want to read a good book? You can do so in front of the fireplace in an armchair or on the sofa. Would you rather watch a TV series after a long walk in the woods? That’s also an option.
The space Experience this cosy home with modern decor and a well-equipped kitchen. The cosy bedroom behind the living room is perfect for children, but it also offers sleeping space for up to 3 people. Upstairs, there’s a spacious double bed for extra comfort.
In the summer, you can enjoy the patio, complete with a pull-out bed that sleeps two. In the winter, the patio is also available, but it can get very cold, so be sure to bring extra bedding. This is particularly suitable for lovers of outdoor activities and sports.
We provide a standard supply of firewood for the fireplace in the cottage. Additional firewood can be purchased for 30 SEK per basket.
Smoking is not permitted inside the cottage.
You may bring a maximum of 2 dogs; a spacious (heated) kennel of approximately 30 m² is available on the property for them.
Throughout the summer, a mosquito trap is available to minimise the mosquito nuisance.
The house has Wi-Fi (250 Mbit).
Use of the hot tub (in the summer) and the sauna must be arranged in advance. The hot tub is filled by the owner in advance, and depending on the season, it must be started by the guest three hours in advance. The sauna can heat up within an hour. The hot tub is not available in the winter.
Due to groundwater, no outdoor water is used. Therefore, tenants are not permitted to use the outdoor faucet. Tenants are asked to use only biodegradable soap due to the septic tank. Cleaning supplies and shower gel are provided in the residence.
Additional electricity usage, such as charging an electric car at the residence (there is no charging station), is billed by the owner at a rate of 9,2 SEK per kWh. Guests do not have access to the charging stations on the property. Charging can only be done at the outdoor outlet at the residence.
Guest Access When you make a reservation, you’ll receive the address, the location of the keys, and the Wi-Fi password. You’ll also receive instructions for using the wood-burning stove and a list of nearby businesses—supermarkets, etc.
Other things to keep in mind The residence is centrally located between the ski areas and several major towns. Mattmar is also easily accessible by car in the winter, but you can also fly to Östersund and Trondheim (Norway). From Östersund, it’s only a 45-minute drive; from Trondheim, it’s 180 km by car or train.
A half-hour drive away lies Åre, which is Sweden’s premier ski destination in the winter. In the summer, it’s an excellent spot for outdoor activities, with beautiful hiking trails, mountain bike trails, and downhill BMX tracks. Snowmobiles are available for rent at various locations; download a map and you can enjoy nature for days on end. Would you rather go out on a dog sleigh? That’s also an option.
