Great location, lots of space, clean and Orlande was so kind and helpful. She made sure we knew how everything worked and where to find everything within the apartment. We did trip the breaker one day and even though it was a holiday Orlande guided us through how to fix it. Great place to stay! Lots of stairs which added to the charm
Beautiful place in a wonderful location. We loved being just a few steps from Place des Vosges. Easy access to public transportation and walkable to great restaurants and sites. The apartment was perfect for our group of 4 friends. The extra half bath (toilet/sink) on the main floor was nice to have.
Amazing location in the 4th Arr.! While the steps up are a little wonky, the place itself is pretty great for being right in the heart of Paris. We are so close to the Seine and so many amazing places. We are and to drop our luggage off early then head across the intersection for an amazing lunch at Vins des Pyrénées. There are tons of options nearby for boulangerie (we loved Miss Manon), fruit markets, vin shops, and small grocery stores. The upper loft looks down over the sofa beds, so there's not a ton of privacy, but it was fine for a few nights for 6 of us. The kitchen was a decent size too. The only thing that would be nice is if there was more than one set of keys or a lockbox - it made it hard to split up because only one person could only ever get in.
So beautiful. Excellent location. Felt like an art / book lover paradise inside the home. The apartment is steps away from places des voges and excellent cafes! Walking distance to shops, and near all the trains to hit tourist destinations. Check-in is incredibly easy.
Our stay was absolutely lovely on 1 Rue de Bastile. This family duplex slept my family of six (four teenagers!), perfectly. We enjoyed the extra bathroom on the main floor for our large group. The flat was well equipped and all appliances, bathroom & room items worked well. The flat was very, very clean. The towels & linens were also very clean! Check in and check out were very smooth- and our host responded quickly through the app. Our host even accommodated a few time change/hiccups we faced- to make our stay better!
Incredible location! Can’t beat it. Able to walk to many sites including notre dame. Easy access to metro for others. Comfortable warm apartment. Easy check in at met at apartment by host.Helped make a great stay
We loved our stay! Soo close to many specialty shops and restaurants. Area was safe and not crowded. The windows were sound proof. Has a half bath downstairs which was helpful for our big group.
Absolutely gorgeous apartment in a lovely part of paris. We wanted to move in! We struggled a little bit with the primary AC but the bedroom was nice and frosty, and opening the windows gave us a lovely cross breeze. Highly recommend!
The home was better than it looked in the pictures! We were in Paris during a heatwave and the apartment, and a/c, saved us. We loved the uniqueness of the apartment, while also enjoying all its modern amenities!
Beautiful apartment with tons of character, beautiful neighborhood. Great family space to relax. Lots of lovely windows to open for airflow and city noise, but quiet once closed and AC quite comfortable.
Amazing space for our Paris adventure.
This little apartment in the Le Marais district had so much charm! We had plenty of space to spread out, had everything we needed to get started on our vacation, and steps outside of the apartment were dozens of cafes, shops, and the Metro. It was such a great way to visit a new city! The host was accessible via the VRBO app and was patient with our multiple questions around check-in. Also arranged for us to drop our bags off prior to check-in. Would definitely stay here again!
We we're 6 people in total; a family with adult kids and my mother in law. The location is excellent. Our kids liked the bar downstairs and because of the good windowns it was not loud at all. The flat is very big and well equipped. The only thing we missed were a few mugs. As mentioned in the ad, it is very open and airy. If you need privacy, there is 1 lockable room. And the stairs were handable also for my 84 year old mother in law. We appreciated the view overlooking the street and the small balcony. We felt very much at home. Thanks for having us.
The apartment was great and as it was half a block from Place de Voges and 2 ateps.from.rue st antoine (which becomes rue de Rivoli, one can walk everywhere .
The apartment itself had everything.
We did ask for an extra set of keys and we were 2 adults who had different agendas sometimes, but never heard back
We had a great stay. The apartment was fun and quirky just as the pictures and description suggest. The kitchen was well equipped. Everything was clean and ready for us. We were a family of 2 adults and 4 teenagers. The location was great. There were lots of good restaurants and cafes in the area. We were close to several metro stations and easy walks to lots of sights. The stairs are winding and slightly uneven. We knew what we were getting into. Our group was fine with the stairs but I would not recommend this place to anyone with accessibility issues.
This apartment is luxury living in the heart of Le Marais. Spacious and beautiful interior with lots of room to spread out and relax. Restaurants, shops, public transportation and lively Parisian culture just downstairs. I wish I could move in! Truly fantastic.
One heads up for elderly travelers or people with mobility issues: the apartment is on the top floor of an old building with a tight, steep, and winding staircase of 60 steps. It’s worth the climb but may not be suitable for everyone.
The appartment was in a great location with a local village feeling. Gourmet food shops, bistros, supermarket, chemists, boutiques and green grocers were close by as well as quieter narrow byways to explore. Large windows could be opened to let in the breeze or to hear the bustle of nightlife in the cafes below and securely closed if you wanted quiet. The appartment was comfortable, spacious and well appointed. Great to come home to. The staircase, although enchanting was narrow, winding and worn with age - not for anybody with mobility problems. The Seine, Notre Dame and Saint Chapelle were within walking distance and metro stations were handily close by. Loved it!
5 stars all around! We loved staying here.
A few things to note:
-this apartment is NOT suitable for individuals with mobility problems as the stars are very steep and uneven. Additionally, all four of us tripped over the central step in the middle of the house as it’s not easily visible.
-key is very difficult to turn in the front door- will take you multiple tries. I wish we had been warned about this in advance!
-simple stove instructions would be awesome to include! Had to look through many manuals online
to unlock it.
All in all it was a beautiful, comfortable well decorated and comfortable apartment. Would recommend to anyone!
We had a great stay here in Paris for our first family trip. The location was wonderful, and we enjoyed Le Marais and all that the neighborhood had to offer. The apartment fit our family of five well. The location is in close proximity to two metro stations which was helpful in getting around.
We had two issues that the owner did respond to. One was that we had a difficult time getting the AC to work well on the main level and the upstairs rooms did not get as cool as we would have liked. Secondly, the door lock to get into the apartment was tricky, and on our first day it took us many attempts to get in, which was frustrating for all of us. Once we figured it out, we were able to get in more quickly. I would recommend some instructions or a manual for the apartment including how to use the washer/dryer.
If you are into art and books, you will love this fantastic apartment in the heart of the Marais district!
The apartment has shelves of books, French classics and art books that we enjoyed poring over. The walls are covered in modern art. I even found a collection of Costa Gavra's films on one shelf! My daughters and I felt at home, which was the vibe we sought. We lived in Paris many years ago but had not explored this area, and the apartment's proximity to Place des Vosges and the small shops surrounding it was convenient; we walked all over the place.
The apartment was a gem; it was very comfortable, and we enjoyed it a lot. The air conditioning is a plus, but understand that this was mainly on the main floor, and the cool air took time to reach the bedroom areas.
Just a word of caution for those who don't know old Paris buildings: there is no lift, and carrying suitcases up three floors can be a challenge, but once the bags were up, the stairs were not an issue anymore.
Overall, we had an excellent stay and thank Orlane, Anna, Matthieu and Samuel for responding to our needs.
We want to come back again!
