The Old Post Office is a beautifully renovated, three-bedroom apartment perched on the edge of Margate's historic Old Town, offering breathtaking sea views. This spacious holiday home provides the perfect setting for gatherings of friends and families looking to uncover the treasures of the wonderful seaside destination.

The Space:
The Old Post Office is located on the edge of the trendy old town. Situated within a beautiful Grade II listed Georgian property built circa 1720, the building is now a wonderfully renovated, yet still a famous local landmark and meeting point, much admired for its architecture.

Bright and spacious with three double bedrooms, the Old Post Office is located on the second floor and is set across two floors.

As you walk into the hallway, you will have access to the kitchen, living room, and a double bedroom on the lower floor. The modern and minimalist kitchen is fully equipped for a self-catering stay and includes an oven and a hob, a microwave, a fridge/freezer, and more. Feel free to use the washing machine provided for your laundry. Next to the kitchen is an open-plan living/dining area. The white interior is complemented by the wooden dining table and black dining chair set, along with the grey and red couches in the living area. A WC room is also available on the lower floor.

On the upper floor, you will be greeted by the accent chair located just by the window. The master bedroom boasts a double bed and private access to a bathroom, fitted with a basin, a WC, and a shower. The third bedroom also fits a double bed and is located right next to the modern family bathroom which is fitted with a bathtub, a basin, and WC.

Host & Stay are committed to our owners that their homes are protected during bookings. For this reason, we require all of our guests to transfer a £250.00 Damage Deposit (subject to a £10.00 administration charge) or, to purchase an Accidental Damage Waiver for £25.00 which will cover you for up to £500.00 of accidental damage during your stay.

Guest Access:
Guests have access to the full property. The keys are accessed via a key safe box, and full details will be provided prior to your stay.

The Neighborhood:
Margate is an exciting seaside resort on England’s southeast coast. Situated on the Isle of Thanet overlooking the North Sea, Margate boasts beautiful sandy beaches and a long pier for leisurely walks and fishing. In recent years, it has become a cultural hub with the opening of the Turner Contemporary Art Gallery and the iconic Dreamland amusement park.

The town also hosts various cultural events and festivals throughout the year, such as Margate Soul Festival, the UK’s biggest soul music festival, attracting both locals and tourists.

Margate’s Old Town offers charming streets filled with boutiques, galleries, and cafes, making it a popular destination for art, shopping, and dining.

Make sure you visit the unique Shell Grotto when visiting Margate! Enter this subterranean passageway that is studded with an incredible 4.6 million shells, creating a magical mosaic of interesting patterns and symbols. Still to this day, no one knows how, why or where this hidden treasure has come from…

If you're looking for something a little different, pop down to the largest tidal pool in the UK. Walpole Bay Tidal Pool is a Grade II-listed structure perfect for swimming on a beautiful sunny day or on a frosty morning for a refreshing quick dip. Close by you can also find mini golf, tennis court, cafe and indoor bowls for some additional fun.

Getting Around:
Margate rail station is a 12-minute walk from the house with regular routes to London, Canterbury and Ashford.

The nearby towns of Dover and Whitstable can be reached via car under 50 minutes so Kent can be explored easily. The popular city of Canterbury can be reached in 45 minutes and the beautiful town of Broadstairs is a short 10-minute drive away too!

If you’re looking to explore via bus during your stay, Margate is serviced by ‘The Loop’ which is operated by Stagecoach. This runs every day and connects Margate, Broadstairs and Ramsgate.
