About this property
Le Dimore di Borgo Tessile - Voltumna Open Space
La Dimora di Borgo Tessile Voltumna is a big open space located in the historical heart of the city of Orvieto, just two hundred meters from its splendid Gothic Cathedral. You will appreciate it for: its location, atmosphere, neighborhood, and indoor and outdoor spaces. The residence is suitable for couples, solo adventurers, and business travelers. A couple of highlights: a private garden to enjoy a glass of wine and a multifunctional shower for two people. Voltumna, God of Earth and of Etruscans, between "Le Dimore di Borgo Tessile" is the one representing a perfect combination between modern and classic, asserting its personality in the historical-artistic context of Orvieto. The dwelling is the result of a major renovation work, in order to give new life to one of the historic buildings of the town. The building, an old medieval church (dating about to 1200), has been completely adapted to the new requirements, however, maintaining its aesthetic and architectural features. You will remain pleasantly surprised by the enchantment of the wooden beams, the use of strong colors like red Valentino and electric blue, by the sight of one of the unique and rare interior gardens of the old town, the magnificent multifunctional shower for 2 people and not least for its central position; the best way to enjoy an excellent glass of wine and not have to think about anything else.
The access from Via lattanzi, 27 is very smooth, there is a wooden door that will lead you inside the stone alley of Le Dimore di Borgo Tessile. After a few meters you will find on your left the access door to the property, and after two flights of stairs you'll be within the beautiful dwelling Voltumna. Continuing along the alley on your right you will find a glass and wrought iron door that will give you access to the beautiful adjoining garden.

Orvieto, a city of ancient Etruscan roots, resting on a cliff of tuff by the sheer walls, surrounded by olive trees and vineyards, is the ideal place for a quiet and beautiful holiday in the green hills of Umbria. It also has a favorable geographical position that allows guests to enjoy in a short time the landscape of big cities such as Rome, Florence, Siena, Perugia and small jewels such as Città della Pieve, Chiusi, Montepulciano, Assisi and Bolsena. To mention the wine and food tradition of Orvieto which follows the typical characteristics of Umbrian cuisine with a focus on recipes based on game birds (such as quails, partridges and turtledoves). Voltumna, as well as the other Dimore by Borgo Tessile, is very close to the cathedral of Orvieto (200 mt), an architectural and cultural jewel of our beautiful country. Moving around the historic center requires a slow and steady pace, which will allow you to reach every corner of Orvieto in just a few minutes. The main means of transport are the "pollicini" (minibus), which go around the city, and the funicular that leads from Piazza Cahen (in the historic center, about 10 minutes walk from the apartment) to the railway station in Orvieto Scalo and the other way around. After a nice walk through the streets of the town you can't avoid to stop at one of the Corso's wine bars to sip an excellent local wine accompanied by typical excellences such as cold cuts, cheeses and much more.
On request you will have access to a private garden to relax and enjoy the myriad of colors given by the vastness of plants, flowers and trees present. Guests will be required to pay the tourist tax in cash at the property. The tax in the municipality of Orvieto for our type of activity amounts to €2.20 per person per night (payable for a maximum of 5 nights).
