About this property
MyHome historic apartment Airco Lecce, Lecce, Italy
This charming garden apartment for 5 is just 300m from the historic centre of Lecce, known as the “Florence of the South”. The apartment is fitted with everything guests might need for a relaxing stay in one of the most beautiful cities in Italy.
Built from pale local stone, this old house has been stylishly decorated. The entrance hall leads to the spacious living room, with natural stone walls and high ceilings. It is furnished with a sofa and a large bookcase, with a flat-screen TV. An archway separates the living area from the dining room at the front of the house. The dining room has a table and chairs, as well as an ottoman which converts into a single bed. The separate kitchen (off the living room) has been beautifully appointed, with modern fitted units and another dining table. It is well-equipped with a cooker hob, oven, microwave, dishwasher, fridge/freezer and a Mokka coffee machine. There is a door leading directly into the garden.
The private walled garden is partly paved to create a dining area for relaxed meals al fresco. The small lawn is shaded by a lovely citrus tree, which also gives some shade to the terraced area. For hot days there is an overhead awning which completely protects the dining area.

Location
The city of the Lecce is the largest town on the stunning Salento peninsula. It was founded over 2000 years ago and has a rich history, with pre-historic sites, Roman ruins and glorious Baroque architecture. The city is home over 20 magnificent Baroque churches including the huge cathedral in Piazza del Duomo (15 minutes walk). Wandering the winding streets and stumbling on the majestic squares is a wonderful way to pass the time.
The city is also famous for its food, which is some of the best in Italy. There are many excellent restaurants and the city’s food markets offer visitors an authentic experience of city life. In addition to the food markets Lecce hosts a large flea market in Viale XX Settembre (5-minute walk) on the 2nd Sunday of every month. Here you can find antiques, vintage pieces and much more.
The Adriatic coast is just a 20-minute drive from the apartment and the Ionian coast about 30 minutes. Both offer lovely unspoiled beaches and make great day trips.
The nearest airport is at Brindisi, 50 minutes away.
