Casa Etruria is the 13th century gate house and guard tower in the ancient borgo of Trequanda (Siena). The house is in the heart of Tuscany's Val d'Orcia, a UNESCO World Heritage site since 2004. After two years of renovations it features a chic modern home inside its ancient stone walls, with every modern convenience, lots of original charm and the most beautiful Tuscan sunsets viewed from the balcony.
Trequanda is a small medieval village well-adapted to the 21st century. It has an award-winning restaurant, a bakery, grocery store, bar and pharmacy. The area features abundant historical sights and some of the most beautiful scenery in Tuscany. It is perfect for wine and food holidays with the winery centres of Montalcino and Montepulciano short trips away and abundant artisanal cheese and olive oil producers nearby. The area is famous for biking holidays, walks along the Via Francigena, and natural thermal spas. Because of its natural beauty, Val d'Orcia has been a setting for famous movies (The English Patient and The Gladiator to mention two) . Florence and Siena are less than an hour away and the Tuscan coast, home to many of the great Super Tuscan wines, is a day trip away.
