About this property
Stunning 3-Bed Barn in Norfolk
The Threshing Barn is an exquisitely renovated rural sanctuary hidden in the peaceful landscapes of south Norfolk. It is a Grade II listed marvel dating back to 1625 offering a blend of old-world charm and contemporary luxury with all its original beams from the oak of the historic Wymondham Forest Common, which once served the King's Navy circa 1623. This is an idyllic peaceful bolthole for restoring the soul.
The space
As you step inside this carefully restored barn, be greeted by an eclectic collection of art and artefacts from around the globe. Every corner tells a story with pieces from India, Africa and beyond, showcasing a captivating blend of cultures. Renovated with meticulous attention to detail, this brand-new barn boasts original beams and a harmonious mix of antique and contemporary furniture. The two floors feature frame and lime wash plaster, eco-friendly building products, strengthened by modern engineering and a bespoke staircase, creating an aesthetic that sets it apart. Experience the unique blend of history and modern comfort, as 400-year-old exposed oak beams meet the luxury of underfloor heating, available both upstairs and downstairs. Traverse the modern loft-style walkway, adorned with steel and glass, created by Edge Bespoke, that overlooks the lower floor, creating an engaging and spacious open-plan environment.
The Threshing Barn comprises one super king-size en-suite bedroom upstairs. One double bedroom and one super king-size or two singles bedroom sharing one bathroom downstairs. There is also a downstairs WC. Marvel at our clear night skies using our telescope from the mezzanine, or lose yourself in music on our outstanding stereo system, boasting perfect acoustics and Bluetooth streaming. With your own private garden, you can open the bifold doors and soak up the sun or dine alfresco using the available BBQ.
Relax in the seclusion of your surroundings, dive into a book, experiment in a gourmet chef's kitchen, or simply watch the setting sun through the panoramic western window. The Threshing Barn is not your typical party house; it's a peaceful haven designed for a restful, quiet stay. There are also many local walks through meadows to listen to birdsong and enjoy the huge open skies.
Nestled just 12 miles from Norwich, experience the cobbled streets of Elm Hill, the Sainsbury Centre of the Arts or the historic grandeur of the Castle. Merely an hour and a half train ride from London, this retreat is also within easy reach of the stunning beaches and remarkable nature reserves with some of the finest bird watching opportunities Norfolk has to offer.
Be welcomed by your hosts, Tom and Lindi, who will guide you through the delightful features of this luxurious home. No corners have been cut in delivering an opulent getaway spot that'll leave you longing to return. Join us at The Threshing Barn, a refined hideaway far from the madding crowd, and uncover the hidden jewels of the Norfolk countryside.

Access is both through double oak front doors or through the back stable door. Either Lindi or Tom will greet you to help you with your luggage.
