We enjoyed our stay at Glikanisos House, a sprawling contemporary villa in the serene village of Nipos Apokoronas. The host, Eva, who met us on arrival, was enthusiastic about our visit and made herself available when we needed anything. The villa was quite large with two bedrooms an extremely large parlor, TV and well-appointed kitchen. The beds were exceptionally comfortable with nice linens and bath towels aplenty. The villa was located in the center of a small village, and, from the balcony, there was an outstanding view of the surrounding hills. There were two very nice tavernas within a three-minute walk, which was quite convenient; the village also had a nice main street with coffee and other shops which were bustling with visitors and locals. I would highly recommend this villa to anyone looking for a serene and relaxing place to stay in this part of Crete.

Das Haus ist relativ neu (renoviert), sauber, ordentlich und alles funktionierte (Dusche, warmes Wasser, Geschirrspüler). Alle Fenster sind mit Insektenschutzgittern versehen und die Balkons sind riesig. Es gibt auf dem unteren Balkon einen großen Esstisch mit Stühlen und auf dem oberen Balkon einen kleinen Tisch mit zwei Stühlen. Für uns wäre es perfekt gewesen, wenn es noch Sonnenliegen gegeben hätte. Unsere Gastgeberin war außerordentlich freundlich, begrüßte uns mit frischem Obst und Gebäck und im Kühlschrank lagen zwei große Flaschen Wasser bereit. Sie schaute nach ein paar Tagen noch einmal vorbei um sich zu vergewissern, dass alles zu unserer Zufriedenheit war. Leider steht direkt vor dem großartigen Ausblick in die Berge eine Bauruine, aber an der kann man links und rechts vorbeikucken.
