Ideally Located

Ajuda is a laid-back, traditional Portuguese neighborhood that’s not far from the beach. Residents and visitors alike can check out the Palácio Nacional da Ajuda, a neoclassical palace that serves as a museum and art gallery. There’s also opportunities to enjoy nature. Roam the grounds of the Jardim Botânico d'Ajuda, a botanical garden boasting sculptures, fountains, and peacocks. Or take a short walk to Parque Florestal de Monsanto, a sprawling urban park where you can jog or relax. In the mood for fine dining? Ajuda features the Michelin-starred restaurant O Frade, which serves classic Portuguese dishes with a modern spin. And because Ajuda is home to a few colleges, such as ISCSP and the University of Lisbon, many students and faculty members live here. While there are a couple of public transportation options, including buses and trams, you may also need a car to get around easily.
