A very spacious and distinctive villa that has been tastefully furnished by the owners. The rooms on the ground floor are interconnected, creating an open-concept space of 75 m2. There is a living room, a TV room, and a dining room. The living room features French doors leading to a large garden. The garden surrounds the villa, so you can always find a spot in the sun (or shade). The kitchen is state-of-the-art and equipped with every conceivable appliance.
The entire house is tastefully furnished and partially decorated with artwork created by the owner, visual artist Nanette Heijnen.
On the ground floor, there are two double bedrooms, one of which features a west-facing balcony with a cosy seating area. From here, you can watch the sun until it disappears completely behind the horizon. This bedroom measures approximately 20 m². The other bedroom is located next door; it also has a double bed and measures approximately 12 m². From the landing, you have access to the bathroom with a shower and sink. The washing machine and dryer are also located here. The toilet is separate from the bathroom and is located on the landing. The single room is on the second floor.
The villa is surrounded by a large garden with several terraces. There is also a cosy porch where you can relax in the evenings.
The presence of a pond makes this accommodation unsuitable for families with small children.
The centre of the charming village of Schoorl, with the famous “Klimduin” in the middle, is 500 metres away. Many cosy restaurants in various price ranges are within walking distance. In the village centre, you’ll also find a large supermarket, a bakery, an organic supermarket, and an organic butcher shop. Of course, there’s also a bike rental shop.
The “Schoorlse Duinen” nature reserve, with its extensive network of hiking and biking trails, begins right beyond the village centre—just 500 metres from the villa. Did you know that nowhere in the Netherlands are the dunes higher or wider than in Schoorl? From the villa, you can cycle along car-free roads through this beautiful area to the beach at Schoorl aan Zee in 20 minutes. It’s not possible to drive to Schoorl aan Zee. Would you like to drive to the beach? Then choose the beach access points in Hargen aan Zee or Camperduin, located 1.5 and 3 kilometres north, respectively. There are also lovely beach pavilions where you can enjoy a snack and a drink. The municipality of Bergen, to which Schoorl belongs, boasts a beach stretching up to 24 km. The Blue Flag flies at all these beaches, indicating that the swimming water is of excellent quality and that hygiene standards are strictly monitored. In 2015, a brand-new beach—complete with a real lagoon—was added between Camperduin and Petten. Young and old alike enjoy it.
The woods and dunes offer many sports and recreational opportunities. You can go on long hikes and bike rides through breathtaking landscapes. Or rent a horse at the riding school and ride along a network of trails to the peaceful beach. There’s also a beautiful mountain bike trail in the dunes—said to be the most beautiful in the Netherlands. If you’re travelling with a dog, it’s allowed to run freely on the beach before 10:00 a.m. and after 7:00 p.m. during the summer months.
