Nearly sleeping in the car

We informed the host that we would be arriving late and had no way of communicating once we left the airport, but the host did not wait for us. We managed to beg a call from a local restaraurant owner and he came about an hour later. The apartment is obviously lived in by the host as clothes, food and personal effects were there. Overall the stay was acceptable. We did damage a table (from ironing) and offered to pay and the host did not charge us for a new luxury table. It was easily solved. so good host.
