5 bedroom Villa with Large Pool and Garden in southern Catalonia

Mas de Rei Pedro is an authentic Catalan holiday home for 11 + 2 persons - very suitable for large or multiple families and groups. The house has a lovely garden with 50 m2 large swimming pool and an outdoor barbecue and a roofed pool table. The house possesses additionally 5 bedrooms and a terrace on the first floor. From the terrace you will have a wonderful view of the garden and the cosy town Horta de Sant Joan, which is within walking distance from Mas de Rei Pedro. Pablo Picasso lived in the little town and, among other things, he painted his first cubist painting here (a very good and unique Picasso museum is also located in the town).

On your arrival at Mas de Rei Pedro you firstly notice the beautiful outdoor facilities. First and foremost, the large private pool (50 m2) with a surrounding pool area where you can enjoy the warm days - either with a good book in the many sun beds or by playing and swimming in the cooling water. The town is located on a hilltop, and from the garden you can enjoy the view of the charming rooftops.

Furthermore, you can play a game of pool on the roofed outdoor pool table or enjoy a homemade dinner during the Spanish summer at the outdoor tables on the terrace. There are plenty of opportunities for self-catering, as the classic Catalan kitchen is complemented by an outdoor open grill.

From the large garden with pool and small flowers beds, you can reach the kitchen by direct entrance from the terrace. The kitchen is in classic Catalan style with the necessary kitchen facilities. Many of the more authentic and worn parts are still in the holiday home and give the house a very classic style. It is perfect for those, who value the historical touch and do not mind that not all details are up to date and new. On the ground floor there is also an extra room with iron, ironing board, washing machine, extra fridge, and freezer. There is access to the indoor dining room from the kitchen.

The ground floor furthermore offers a living room with sofas, flat screens, DVD machine, Wi-Fi and a characteristic old fireplace. In the Hall you find an exchange-book area and delicious local wines and olives, which you can buy at fair prices. A model of the famous monastery Convent de SantSalvador is also placed in the hall (the monastery is located in the nearby town ofHorta de Sant Joan). On the wall in the hallway hang old, antique agricultural tools that emphasize the traditional Catalan farmer style of the building.

On the top floor are a total of five bedrooms, including 4 double rooms and 1 triple room. 2 of the rooms have double beds, 2 have twin beds and the triple room has a double bed and a single bed. All rooms are decorated in old Catalan farmer style. One of the most beautiful bed frames is more than 300 years old and 200 years ago the king Pedro slept there (the mattresses are of course replaced many times since :) ). On the terrace of the first floor you can enjoy your morning coffee, the evening sun, and the view of the garden and the cosy town ofHorta de Saint Joan in the horizon.

Mas de Rei Pedro is located just 2 km. from Horta de Sant Joan, which is the small lovely town where Picasso lived for several years and he was quoted for saying: "Everything I know I learned in Horta". There is also a small museum in his honour. It is possible to walk from the holiday home to the city that also offers supermarkets and a cosy square with cafés and restaurants.

The house is excellent for a holiday group wishing to live close to a village, enjoy the charming Catalan style and do not necessarily want a very modern house.
