An end of school holidays getaway for me and my very tall 17 & 21 yr old sons.
An end of school holidays getaway for me and my very tall 17 & 21 yr old sons...so separate bedrooms and decent WiFi were the most important requirements!Very easy to find, the caravan park is right next to the A6 (which is also one of the few negatives as the road is very loud). It is not within walking distance of anything but it is a 20-30 minute drive to Carlisle, which has everything you could ask for! High Hesket is within easy drive of so many different places not only in the Lakes but Scotland too!The caravan is exceptionally comfortable and the owner has gone above and beyond to provide extras like hand wash, shampoo, conditioner, hand lotion plus lots of cleaning products. The towels were lovely and soft! The washing machine and tumble dryer are a real bonus, as is the dishwasher. The kitchen is well equipped but would benefit from a frying pan and more pots and pans. The bedrooms are very small with limited storage but met our needs. The beds are comfy but the singles too short for my 6ft 2 son. The second toilet is handy! The shower is big and has great water pressure though the temperature tricky to control! We had mixed weather for the week and enjoyed visits to Keswick, Penrith, Carlisle, Gretna Green and even a train journey to enjoy Edinburgh for a day! On a rainy day we visited the Vue Cinema and Hollywood Bowel in Carlisle, on our other rainy day we stayed in and played board games!I would definitely stay again!
