The Old Reading Room is a detached stone built cottage situated right in the heart of the picture postcard coastal village of Bamburgh. Tucked up a small, private lane, this quaint property was built in the early 1800s and originally used as an infant school. It then became the reading room for the village and finally a doctor’s surgery. The Old Reading Room now provides self catering holiday accommodation where restaurants, tea rooms, shops and pubs are all a mere gentle stroll away. Visit the interesting Grace darling Museum close by or amble down to the glorious expanse of golden sands only a few minute’s walk from The Old Reading Room.
